Chapter One
Harry sat at his desk paperwork. It was the only thing he hated about being an Auror. Ron and Hermione were out doing something work related. He hadn't really paid much attention when they left the Ministry a few hours ago.
As harry was rolling up his parchment, and putting the lid on his ink jar, the door to the Auror office burst open. Since there wasn't anyone else in the large office, Harry was the one who looked up to greet whoever had barged in.
"Oh Potter, it's you. Where's Weasley? I have an important message for him." Draco Malfoy snarled when he saw only Harry.
"Malfoy, he isn't here. He went on an errand with Hermione. What is it? I can deliver it to him at home." Harry replied as he stood up and pushed his chair in. He walked around to the front of his desk and glaring at Malfoy.
"No, it's private. I'll come back tomorrow to deliver it in person." Draco snapped as he quickly exited the office, his robes almost getting caught in the door as he slammed it behind him.
Draco was still as rude as ever, especially since he was just doing messenger stuff for the ministry while he, rom and Hermione were successful Aurors even only a year after the destruction of Voldemort.
Harry sighed and finished clearing up his desk before making his way out of the Ministry to his apartment in Diagonalley.
When he arrived home the place was quiet. He decided Ginny must be out shopping or something, and he decided to make himself some dinner so it would be ready whenever she got home. He had just starting dinner when Ginny cam in the front door with bags.
"Hey Harry! You're home early." Ginny said as she set the bags down in the living room.
"Yeah, everyone had left with errands and duties and I was just sitting there doing paperwork. I finished and decided to come home early." Harry replied as he went over to Ginny and gave her a large hug and kissed her gently on the mouth.
When they separated Ginny smiled and gave him another kiss. "Well my day involved getting new dress robes for my new job next week!" Ginny said.
She had recently finished her seventh year at Hogwarts and had gotten a job at Gringotts.
"Sounds like fun," Harry said sarcastically.
Ginny just laughed and slapped him on the arm. She pushed him out if the way so she could finish making dinner. "Oh, and I even bought you some butterbeer. It's in one of the bags."
Harry went over to the living room and began looking through the bags until he found the butterbeer. "Thanks Ginny! I really do have the best girlfriend."
Ginny laughed as she began stirring the stew she was making while cutting up potatoes and other vegetables. "I am, I even make you dinner! What would you do without me?'
"I'd starve; I can't even boil water without burning something.' Harry said laughing as she sat down at the kitchen table and began reading the Daily Prophet that had been delivered that morning.
That night as Harry lay in bed with Ginny he couldn't calm his racing mind. He should have been perfectly happy with his beautiful girlfriend lying in bed, snuggled up next to him. Instead he kept thinking about someone else. Someone else he hated, and had no reason to think about at all, but he was. He was thinking and he couldn't stop thinking about him. Malfoy, his enemy since first year. That is who he couldn't keep his mind off of that night as he lay in bed.
