Burn Out For Me

Disclaimer: Don't own Sailor Moon, or any of its characters, unfortunately.

A/N: I originally wrote this for a character of my own, but when I finished it, it reminded me so much of Sailor Saturn that I had to post it. I'm not a big poet; in fact I'm lucky if I can write one poem a year. But please let me know what you think anyway, even if it sucks. If it isn't as bad as I thought, maybe I'll be inspired to write more. Please, please review! And if you're Sailor Saturn fans, please also go read my one shot called Destroyer, Savior.

Flutter of a curtain

The icy wind streams in

The tiny flame in a lone candle

Sputters and is snuffed out

Its light extinguished

Shudder, shake, it will do no good

Nothing can save you, nothing can prevent it

There is naught to do

But wait in the darkness

She will find you

Crouch in the circle of lamplight

You cannot hide

Shivers twist down your spine

She approaches

Silence and death follow in her wake

A scythe in her hand

Features of an innocent youth

Light or dark

Angel or demon?

Only she can say

Luminous amethyst eyes

Penetrating and piercing

They see right through you

There is no escaping her

She has come to guide you to the end

She draws nearer, silent as the night

There will be no more warmth

Light will diminish

Life will be no more

Darkness will reign

Ebony hair swings forward as she kneels

Sorrow, death, and resurrection

Reflected in her fathomless eyes

Her whispered words nearly lost in the wind

Burn out for me. . .
