I own nothing. It's all J. K.'s.

When she was finally free of Malfoy Manor, Luna believed she would still die. It wasn't that she didn't appreciate being alive, and it wasn't that she didn't want to be alive. It was just…

She really saw it as The End. There was no way she could live after that. After torture. After starvation. After months of darkness.

Of course, she kept positive for Mr. Ollivander. He needed that.

Now she was safe in a quaint little house by the beach.

It was Hermione who broke the silence.

"Did they torture you, too?"

"They did."

"How'd you move on from it?" Hermione couldn't meet her eyes.

"I haven't, not yet," Luna smiled softly, taking Hermione's hand. Tension loosened from her shoulders. "But I did put it aside to help Mr. Ollivander."

Hermione nodded, finally meeting Luna's eyes. A tear slid down the older girl's nose. Instinctively, Luna reached for Hermione. Hermione, in turn, fell into Luna's outstretched arms, sobbing.

"It's okay," Luna stroked the bushy brown curls. "We made it. We're here. We will make it. We'll get through it together."

And Luna found that she meant it.
