"It melted with the head, are you going to whittle on all night?"
Rose hurried out after him, still angry about him not caring that he had just beheaded her boyfriend. Who did he think he was? Yeah, he could be an alien, but a heartless one at that.
Then she stopped in her tracks, shocked. They were in a completely different place. No more living plastic mickey after them, breaking down the door. But how? How could a blue police box that was bigger on the inside transport them to an entirely different place?
"You know, I talked with a man about you."
The Doctor turned toward her and grinned. "Is that so? Anything good?"
"You were at the Kennedy assassination. You stopped a family from sinking and dying on the Titanic. You-You've done impossible, great things. I don't understand it."
"Well, what do you think? That I killed Kennedy?" He said, still grinningly mocking her.
She laughed despite of herself. "No, no, don't be silly. But did you?"
"No, Rose Tyler. Now, I asked you what you thought."
"Remember when we talked about the earth revolving?"
He smiled a small smile. "Yeah."
"You said how you could feel it falling, and I felt like a little kid again, not really believing it. Now I think I do. You've been to all of these places in this box, and everything moves fast for you. Everything must never get…boring. Nothing peaceful. Moving, just moving, all the time. Don't you ever hate it?"
He stared at her silently for a moment. The he walked to her, and brushed her hair out of her eyes, and really looked at her. It was the first time he had actually stopped and looked Rose Tyler in the eyes. She was afraid. She would not admit it now, and would most likely never admit it, but in that moment, she was. She feared his power, because she was smart enough to sense just how old and powerful he could be. He promised himself, selfishly making plans for her to travel with him, that she would never see that side of him. She would never have to be afraid again.
"Even to the human eye, the world is turning incredibly fast. But its moments like this, moments with a someone who can understand, that make it bearable. Sometimes the slow parts are the best parts."
