Hello all my amazing readers of all ages, genders and species, and welcome to my Mass Effect X Star Wars Rebels fan fanfic and my first ever fanfiction with Mass Effect characters.

I made this for 2 reasons.

1: I have not written any Star Wars stuff since the one with RWBY.

2: I have wanted to write Mass Effect for I don't even know how long. So killing two Stormtroopers with one shot.

Now there is something you need to know about this fic, or more specifically about Ashley. If I don't explain this, you may think she is acting out of character in alot of the scenes she's in, but there is a big reason for that.

And that reason is simple: This is not the Mass Effect version of Ash, this is my Star Wars version of her. So she will be differenet but I will do my best to keep her strong and badass personality, but she will be a little more tragic too.

So different universe, different situations, different characters, all adding up to different character development.

Now with that out of the way, enjoy the first chapter of Ash of the Rebellion.

Meet Ashley Williams.

Lothal was a planet in the Outer Rim Territories. It was in a state of economic disrepair and invited the Galactic Empire with the promise of prosperity and security. The governor of Lothal, Azadi, was replaced by governor Pryce as she industrialized and expanded its industries. Although many people said the Empire would bring doom, the ones preaching new jobs and prosperity were vindicated.

The planet was primarily terrestrial, known for its grassy plains, spine tree forests, farmland, long, low mountains, and shallow freshwater seas. The planet also had marshes, which were said to house will-o'-the-wisps. Besides the administrative and metropolitan center Capital City, Lothal was sparsely populated; other farming towns were located amid the plains and rock formations across the planet. Distinctive conical spires punctuated the skylines of Lothal's plains, ranging in height and often found in large clusters. Lothal was also known to contain several types of precious minerals, including scarce kyber crystals.

Prior to the coming of the Galactic Empire, large areas of Lothal were covered by teeming spine tree forests and vivid farmland. The Empire established several factories and mines which polluted and marred much of the planet's previously pristine natural environment. Imperial business even disrupted the planet's varied weather, which had once brought natural wonders such as thunderheads rolling over its mountains and the sound of the wind. Even those who only knew the Empire still came to miss things such as the smell of jogan blossoms on the breeze since the Empire destroyed many orchards to make way for mines.

It is not the most beautiful planet in the galaxy. But the people that lives here call it home. Such as a young boy named Ezra Bridger. He grew up on this planet He was born to Ephraim and Mira Bridger, whose public criticism of the Empire led to their imprisonment, leaving Bridger an orphan on Lothal as a child.

After his parents were taken away, Ezra would have grown up all alone... but he has a shred of luck on his side. A certain someone just happened to find him just a few weeks after his parents' disappearance.

Ezra suddenly saw a Star Destroyer fly over his home. Knowing something was bound to happen, he decided to head for the city. He walked inside where he saw non other than his older sister. Ashley Williams! Who was currently still sleeping soundly in her bed, dressed only in a short white T-shirt and a pair of black pantise with one leg haning of the edge of the bed. A sight some would kill to see.

Now why was not Ezra blushing up a storm? That's because he grew up with her so he was just to used to it to care.

You see, after a few weeks of living by himself, Ezra was found by Ashley when he tried to get away from some Storm Troopers after having stolen some food. Ashley saved him and ended up adopting him as her younger brother.

It also turned out that Ashley was a former imperial cadet before she was kicked out due to insubordination. But that is a story for another day, time to focus on here and now.

Ezra rolled his eyes and walked up to his sleeping sister "Ash, time to wake up" His only response was a small grunt, he began shaking her shoulder "Ash! ASH!".

"5 more minutes" Ashley said turning away.

"Well you give me no other choice sis" Ezra said as he took out a small taser and then put it at Ashley's foot.

Said girl let out a loud yelp from the small but sudden shock on her foot and jumped of the bed, got tangled in her blankets and fell down.

"Rise and shine sis! Heading into the city for a while. See ya later!" Ezra said as he bolted out of their home.

"EZRA! GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW!" Ashley shouted as she got up and ran after her brother.

When Ashley got outside, Ezra had already escaped on a speeder. Ashley sighed, Ezra was really good at pushing her a little to far sometimes.

"What am I going to do with that kid?" Ashley said to herself before stretching her arms a little before going back inside.

She put a can with water on a hot plate before taking out a few things from a box. She was going to make some tea, like she does every morning. She sat down on her bed while waiting for the water to boil. Ashley's and Ezra's home was not to fancy. They did not have alot of anything. Food, water, power, everyday was a challenge. But this is the life both had been living for several years now and they had managed to make it work.

Ashley knew she could have had a somewhat better life. But that would be a false life. The Empire is the last place she would ever want to live in. She heard the boiling water and hurried to take it of. She poured the water in her cup and used a spoon to mix it around with the tea. She picked up the cup and headed out to the balcony to look at the city.

"Home sweet home..." Ashley said to herself before taking a small sip of her tea.

She suddenly saw an explosion in the city, it almost made her spill her tea. Ashley was confused. Stuff like that almost never happened on this tiny place, that's why she lives here... and then a Tie Fighter flew over her.

'Ezra!' Ashley thought and hurried back inside, she put down her tea and picked up a communicator, both she and Ezra had one to be able to contact each other in case something happened "Ezra! Ezra do you hear me?!".

She rechived no answer, she cursed loudly as she hurried to put on her blue skin tight suit and got down from the tower, jumped on her own speeder and took of towards the city.

On her way she still tried to contact Ezra "Ezra! Come on answer me dammit!".

She reached the city and had to get of her speeder. She ran inside trying to find any signs of her trouble making brother. But she could not find him anywhear, and all the Strom Troopers did not make it any easier.

'Dammit Ezra. Just what kind of mess have you gotten yourself in to this time?' Ashley thought before she saw a ship she had not seen before fly away with Tie Fighters after "Don't tell me!".

As for Ezra himself, he was in quite the situation. When he went in to town, he saw a group of people he had never seen before that was stealing from the empire. Being the boy he is, he decided to see what was so vital that it was worth stealing from the empire for and one thing led to another and now he was on a ship with said group.

"Whoa. Oh! Do you have any idea what these are worth on the black market?" Ezra said when he noticed they were stealing blasters.

"I do, actually" An adult man with some armor around his arm said.

"Don't get any ideas" A large alien warned.

Ezra glared "They're mine".

The big guy glared back "If you hadn't gotten in our way-".

"Too bad. I got to them first" Ezra interrupted.

"It's not who's first. It's who's last. Keep an eye on our friend here" The man said before heading to the front of the ship.

While they were trying to get away, Ezra sat on a crate "Look, I was just doing the same thing you were: stealing to survive".

"You have no idea what we were doing. You don't know us" The big guy said.

"And I don't want to. I just want off this burner" Ezra shot back.

The large alien towered over him "Please. Nothing would thrill me more than tossing you out... while in a flight".

But then the ship made a sudden move casuing him to fall on Ezra "Get off! I... can't... breathe".

"I'm not that heavy in this gravity" The big guy said.

"Not the weight. The smell" Ezra goraned out.

The large alien grabbed him "You don't like the air quality in here, eh? Fine. I'll give you your own room".

"Hey, stop! Let go" Ezra said as he was tossed in to a closet.

"Kid sounds impressive" A female twi'lek named Hera said.

The man who's name was Kanan looked at her "You're not thinking what I think you're thinking".

Hera smiles "He held on to a crate of blasters with a pack of troopers on his tail".

"Because I was there to save him. He's street rat- wild, reckless, dangerous and- Gone? Zeb, Sabine? Where's the kid?" Kanan asked.

"Calm down, chief. He's in- Uh, here" The big guy named Zeb said.

"Zeb, where is he?" Kanan asked.

"Well, he is still in the ship" Zeb answered.

They heard movements in the wents and the girl named Sabine spoke "Oh, he's in the ship, all right".

"Very creative. Sounds like someone I used to know" Hera said and Kanan just groans.

While in the wents Ezra's communicator sounded of again, he gulped and answered it "Ummm, hello sis".

"SO YOU FINALLY REMEMBER HOW TO ANSWER!?" Came a vary angry shout from the other end "What the hell did you do this time!?".

Ezra chuckled nervously "Umm, that is a very funny story really".

"Then how come I'm not laughing?" Ashley asked in a deadly tone.

Ezra gulped before he fell out of the vents in to seat and finally noticed his situation "I'm- I'm in space" TIE fighters attacked "And I'm about to die!".

"WHAT!?" Ashley shouted.

"Sorry sis, got to call you back" Ezra said.

"Ezra! Don't you dare-!" Ezra ended the transmission before she could finish. He was so dead now.

He was pulled out of the seat by Sabine who gave him a quick glare before getting on it herself and began to fire at the TIE Fighters.

"My name's Ezra. What's yours?" Ezra asked until Zeb grabbed him.

"My name's Zeb, you Loth-rat" He growled out as Ezra smiled nervously.

"Calculations complete, but we need an opening" Hera said.

"Found one" Sabine said as she blew up a TIE Fighter.

"Entering hyperspace" Hera said as the ship did just that.

Back on Lothal it has gotten dark and Ashley was walking through the streets, both angry and worried for Ezra. But then she stopped when she heard a voice from the roof and listened to it "They knew our protocol and were waiting in position".

She hears a man sigh and said "I have no doupt. You're not the first on Lothal hit by this crew".

"That's a relief. I mean- I assume that's why you're here, Agent Kallus" The man from before said.

"The Imperial Security Bureau pays attention to patterns. When the Empire's operations are targeted on an ongoing basis, it could signify something more than the theft if a few crates. It could signify the spark of rebellion. Next time they make a move, we'll be waiting for them, to snuff out that spark before it catches fire" Kallus said.

Ashley's worried level spiked 'Ezra... just what have you gotten yourself in to this time!?'.

Ashley hurried to go back home. When she was there she contacted Ezra again.

Back with Ezra, he was not too happy "Let go. You can't keep me here. Take me back to Lothal".

"Calm down. That's exactly what we're doing" Hera said.

Ezra got wide eyes "Wait. Right now? With Imperials chasing us?".

"We lost the Ties when we jumped, and the Ghost can scramble its signature... so they won't recognize us when we return" Hera explained.

"Oh. That's pretty cool. So just drop me and my blasters outside Capital City and-" Ezra began but Sabine stopped him.

"They're not your blasters" She said in a matter of fact tone.

"And we're not going back to Capital City. The job's not done" Kanan said.

"Look, I need to get home before my sister has a panic attack!" Ezra said until his communicator was heard.

He gulped and when he answered it..."EZRA BRIDGER!".

He almost dropped it while holding his ear in pain "Sis, calm down-".

"NO! I am sick of your excusess! I over heard two imperial agents talking about a reble cell, that are a prime target for them. Tell me what the hell you have done this time!" Ashley demanded.

Ezra sighed "Look, I got in to something I thought could help us survive a little longer. It went bad and I am kind of stuck with these people and can't go home until they are done with their job".

"Ezra you reckless little..." Ashley said her voice cracking a little.

Ezra got really worried now "Ash, calm down! You are having a panic attack!".

Hera held out her hand "Let me talk to her" Ezra hesitated "Trust me on this..." Ezra relented and let her talk to Ash "Hello ms Ash".

"Who is this?!" Ashley demanded.

"My name is Hera Syndulla, I am the captain of our little crew. And I want to assure you that the boy is in safe hands and we will bring him back to you" Hera said in a soft tone.

Ashley's breathing became a little more stable "You promise?".

"I promise. He is safe with us" Hera said.

"O-ok... just please bring him back safely. I can't lose him too... I can't" Ashley said, her tone weak.

"Ash. I promise. We will bring him back safe and without a scratch. I promise" Hera said like mother comforting a scared child.

Ashley was silent for several moments "Thank you".

Hera smiled "It's what we do".

Hera let Ezra take over "I'll be home in no time sis".

"You better!" Ashley said and ended the call.

Back with Ash, she sat down on her bed and put her hand on her head. This had been such a stressful day for her. When Ezra come home she would beat the crap out of him... and then hug him and never let go.

Ezra was all she had left. And she would not survive lossing him to the empire... never again.

.

Ok time to answer 2 questions I'm sure alot of people have.

1: Yes I will expand more on Ashley's past.

2: Yes, there will be more Mass Effect characters down the line, but Ash will be the main one.

Tell me what you think.
