Chapter 10, part 2
"Okay girl. Ya wanna challenge me?"
The thin girl and Christina were next. They both walked out a little more, took out one pokeball, and
stared at each other cold.
"So," said Christina. "Wanna battle?"
"You bet," said the girl. "Psyduck, I choose you!"
The girl threw her pokeball and a Psyduck came out.
"Psy yai yai!"
Christina threw her pokeball.
"Articuno, GO!"
"Ar!"
The girl grinned.
"Psyduck, Scratch now!"
(The two Pokemon were at very low levels, since they're less than a year old. At least Articuno knows
two attacks. Heh heh.)
The Psyduck gave Articuno a really big Scratch on its neck. Articuno fell back.
"Ti cuno!"
"Articuno, Peck it!"
The ice bird then strutted over, jumped on Psyduck and then gave it a sharp Peck. (Yes, as I said, all the
chicks don't know how to fly yet.)
"Duck!"
Psyduck was weakened a little, but then had more energy to give another Scratch attack.
"Okay," Christina shouted. "Time for an ICE BEAM!"
"Arrtii..."
Articuno stepped back, opened its beak, and spit out an Ice Beam at the girl's Psyduck.
"CUUNOO!"
"PSY!"
Psyduck was hit head on. It fainted.
"No! Psyduck, return!" the girl said, calling her Psyduck back. She then looked at Christina.
"I can beat you with my last Pokemon!"
"Oh yeah," said Christina. "Try it. Go Moltres!"
She threw Moltres's pokeball.
"MOLT!!"
The girl immediately threw her second pokeball.
"Cyndaquil, GOOOOOO!"
A Cyndaquil popped out.
"Cyndaa!"
"I'll fight fire with fire!" shouted the girl.
"Oh yeah," challenged Christina. "Moltres, Fire Spin!"
"No! Cyndaquil, Defense Curl!" commanded the girl.
"Quil," Cyndaquil said as it curled into a spiny ball, avoiding the attack.
Then, Cyndaquil slowly uncurled itself, just in case Moltres was gonna attack it again. Christina noticed
that and instantly shouted quickly to it, "Fire Spin it again!"
"Tres!"
Moltres quickly did another Fire Spin that was so sudden, the Cyndaquil didn't notice and got hit
critically.
"Cyndaquil," the girl said, "TACKLE!"
"Quiil! Cyn..."
The Cyndaquil charged with all its might at Moltres and bowled it over.
"Moltres, Peck it!" commanded Christina.
"Mol!-"
Moltres immediatly Pecked the Cyndaquil as it was Tackling it. Cyndaquil was thrown off.
"Cyn...da...quil..."
It couldn't fight anymore for the time being.
"Cyndaquil...return."
The girl sorrowfully called back her Cyndaquil.
"Darnit!" she said. "That girl beat me both times also!" she shouted to the chubby girl.
I then knew...It was my turn...
