A/N Hi this is a PercyxPiper FRIENDSHIP fic because I think they'd be the coolest people on the block. Please don't think I'm shipping them romantically (PERCABETH AND JASPER 5EVER). Now that that's out of the way I don't own PJO.

"I'll be right back. A job is calling." Annabeth smiled apologetically as she left the small café in New Rome. Of course it had to be the ONE day she invited Piper over that Demeter wanted her kitchen remodeled. Both Piper and Percy gazed after their connection before sitting in an awkward silence. Percy absentmindedly gazed around the café. There were only six or so tables and no one was here. A small bar held a bred looking legacy as he fiddled with the radio. Potted plants were scattered around the area and the white tile floor was polished till it shone. It was a great quality place but of course since the mood was tense it kinda killed the whole "fancy yet bohemian café vibe"

"So…" Percy trailed off awkwardly. Annabeth invited him along and he couldn't just say no. So here he was: sipping a blue coke as he stared at Piper.

"Yup." Piper replied as she fiddled with her napkin. Sure they were both on the Argo 2 together and all but they never really talked. Just as Percy was about to say something, that was probably stupid, a new song came on the quality speakers. Uma Thurman. Immediately the two's heads swiveled to the source. Percy's lips were silently moving to the lyrics and Piper clapped the rhythm under the table. Their bodies started to sway and something seemed to snap inside of Percy. Once the next chorus came on he slammed his fists down on the plastic table and jumped atop it. Piper followed his lead of moving and did a rock star slide across the floor. The song was winding down and a furious manager entered the set.

"Get out immediately! I'll send the bill to your college dorm Jackson." The man yelled. The two hastily ran out of the café while laughing.

"Why does he know you so well?" Piper asked through her peals of laughter.

"Because one time I knocked down his front display…that took him three hours to make." Percy admitted sheepishly while rubbing the back of his neck.

"How?!" Piper exclaimed.

"Well Shake It Off came on and…it's not my fault he has great music taste!" Percy defended himself.

"I'm sure. What should we do until Annabeth comes back?" Piper asked.

"We could wait for her patiently or we could go to the nearest Starbucks." Percy offered.

"Starbucks? With ADHD? Are you sure Percy?" the daughter of Aphrodite asked skeptically.

"Oh please they have things other than coffee. Besides I love their scones."
