With Peeve's Help

D-VAS

It would have been a common day if it weren't for the conversation I overheard between the Potter boy and her friend Granger. The way they talked happily and unconcerned about my situation with Irma was enough for me to feel the fear of them noticing what was going on and wanting to hang them by the ankles to the tallest tower. If only Umbridge was still here…

Nobody should or could know, we didn't make it obvious. I just invited her to see my collection of chains and torture articles, that must have impressed her. And when I stood beside her the day of the Yule Ball… But none of the little buggers were around every time I hesitated when I was talking to her, nor when I fell into Peeves's traps –I'll catch him some day!- while I was thinking of her…Her, with her smooth hair tied in a high bun, and her despise for little buggers almost as huge as mine, her severe look and that peculiar smell… Her… No, Filch! Focus!

Argus Filch walked deep in thought, battling in his mind about his relationship with Irma Pince. When suddenly, interrupting his thoughts, came his cat, Mrs. Norris, who guided him to the entrance of the library, where Peeves was throwing dungbombs at Mrs. Pince's beloved books. While Filch struggled to keep Peeves out of the library, Ms. Pince watched how he fought and cursed at the poltergeist.

When Peeves got bored of messing with the caretaker, he raced out of the library laughing out loud, Filch murmured to himself just when he realized he was being watched. His hands began to shake and sweat when he saw Irma Pince's severe figure. Irma got closer. Filch felt a knot in his throat when he saw her open her mouth, expecting her to yell at him for not kicking out Peeves out of her sanctuary before he ruined her books; but he was surprised to hear a soft "thank you" from Irma while his heart skipped a beat, and with a smooth kiss on his cheek, she huried out of the room, blushed, while the only thought on Argus's mind was "I will never EVER try to get rid of Peeves again!".
