CHAPTER 1
We all remember that boy named Potter, The Boy Who Lived, The One Who Put an End to You-Know-Who's Life; however, may do not know the story after Rowling's documentary of his life, very accurate, but she left off a major milestone of Harry's life out: University.
Ginny and Harry started to live together after they got married. He was 21 and she was 20, and Harry began working as a bar-tender at The Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade, working from 7 o'clock in the morning to 8 o'clock at night. He never complained about the time he got home, because Ginny wasn't working yet.
Ginny was planning on working somewhere in Diagon Alley, hopefully at Olivander's Wand Shop as his personal assistant. The man never had any time to do anything during the weekdays, aside from his usual matching people with and selling wands. Whenever Harry ran into the old man, he always would stress to him how much he needed an assistant to do both odd jobs for him, and also run errands. Ginny wanted this job, but she wanted to stay home and practice being a housewife, which wasn't hard for her, because she simply loved cleaning.
The apartment they rented was located in Hogsmeade, in a new complex that was built shortly after Harry's graduation. Pretty much everything Harry bought now was discounted. Well, come to think of it, the only thing discounted that they owned was the apartment, and they got half off rent!
Anyhow, our story begins one day, when Harry came home from work, the usual 8 o'clock…
"GINNY, I'M HOME!" Harry yelled as he walked in and hung his coat on the rack. He was tired, and he was really glad it was Friday.
"Do I need to get the mail?" he said as he approached Ginny and gave her a nice kiss on the cheek.
"Darnit!" she said, putting he hand on her forehead. "Forgot again, sweetie. I'm sorry."
He gave her a tight hug, trying to comfort her. "It's okay darling, no need to get yourself worked up. Just lemme go down to the complex's P.O. Box system and I'll be right back."
He kissed her on the forehead instead of saying any words, and headed out the door.
The Potters lived on the tenth floor of the complex (out of eleven). The elevator was one of the wizards' world, so if you just blinked, you'd miss the elevator opening.
The lobby was grand, and reminded Harry of The Great Gatsby, a Muggle film that he quite enjoyed. The time period was called the 'Roaring Twenties', and the lobby replicated the feel perfectly, and if not, then very, very similar.
He approached the filing cabinet-looking circuit of mail boxes, and he scanned them for their number. 422, 423, 424... 435! He thought to himself. He jammed the key inside the hole and twisted it to the right ninety degrees to the left. The lock clicked, and he pulled the handle.
He saw the normal collection of mail. The Daily Profit, a series of bills including his apartment's rent, the cable fee (they were paying a bit extra for Wizards' and Muggles' cable), electricity, and water.
Harry hadn't noticed until he was about to close the box that there was a letter sitting there. No, there were two, both with the same seal, one that they would always remember. One that changed their lives, and one that made Harry ditch his awful life with the revolting Dursleys. It was none other that the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizadry wax seal.
He didn't know what to expect from the letter. He hoped it was good, but since it was from Hogwarts, he had to expect anything and everything.
He ran up to the apartment, still contemplate what the heck this letter would contain. It could be of great gratitude, or awful hardship. Harry could only hope for the best. He opened the door, without saying hello to Ginny again. All he did was hand her the letter. She looked at me with major disbelief.
"Harry, is this real? Are we being pranked?" She had eyebrows knitted. Whenever she did this, it kind of scared Harry, but he never said anything.
"I'm pretty sure you can't duplicate the Hogwarts insignia. If I recall, a young fellow tried and was sentenced for life in Azkaban."
I tore into my letter first, hoping that there was only goodness that awaited. He cleared his throat, then read the letter's contents aloud:
"Dear Fellow Hogwarts Alumni:
June First, Two-Thousand-And-Nine
Greetings! My name is Doctor Forella, and I am the current Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizadry! As some may know, we have cleared much of the Forbidden Forrest recently, and contrary to popular belief, it was not for a new Quidditch field. It was for a new addition to the school. Hogwarts is proud to now be serving as a new college for any who have graduated from the school!
If you have received this letter, you have been chosen for a full scholarship to the University (includes books, supplies etc.) You are given the choice to either live in the newly-built condominiums on campus (free of charge), or continue living wherever you are currently living.
See You On the First of August,
Doctor Forella
Post Script- No couples, married or not, under NO CIRCUMSTANCE shall live in the same condominiun."
I looked up at Ginny. She looked like she was deep in thought.
"So…" I interrupted her thought. "I think it would be nice to go back and live on school grounds again. Wouldn't cost anything."
She looked back at me "I'm not too sure. If we can live close to each other, then that would be okay. But if we can't it's not happening."
She started walking towards her bedroom, and I called, "So it's a no to the going back to school thing?"
She turned and looked at me with a smart-alec look, and said "Oh, we're going to University." She smiled, turned away, and walked to her room.
