Isaac was alone, not alone in the sense that no one was with him, because that certainly was not true, in the dark damp bonfire lit room, things where moving, shuffling and gurgling in the void.

Isaac was alone in the sense that he had nothing and no one; his mother torn between the love of her son and the will to serve her god, his father had vanished without a trace, and his cat was dead and was rotting away, now all he knew for certain was that he was not the only thing in the room,

"h-hello?" whimpered Isaac into the void that enveloped him, no change in sound or movement from the room, just the low gargling and shuffling noise same as before…

Before Isaac could react something hit him across the face, hissss! pure agony! "ahhhh!" no yell or call of anger, just the screech of a child in pain and his skin burned and seared with pain below his left eye, he winced and held his eye shut with extreme force, to the point where tears shot from his eye hitting the creature, hissss! The same noise, his eyes adjusted to see the creature, wonder around with blood pouring from his head like a fountain, but now it was melting, it continued to melt as long as Isaac continued to cover it in tears.

Isaac was scared, he could see now, a door at either end of the room, one with sharp edges, and one with a wooden frame, the sharp one led to a very dark room, that suited Isaac little, the wooden door seemed less painful and far less dark.

The next room brought back a memory, had he been here before? It felt like he had been through all this before… This scared Isaac even more, was he going mad? Or had he really been through it all before, both where equally terrifying prospects… unlike the last room this room had three doors, the one leading to his left was a wooden door like the last, the other two were different, one had a gold banded door frame, the other was a wooden door with a key hole in the centre, Isaac had nothing but a small cherry bomb, nothing of use.

The gold room looked rather enticing, why not just see what's in there, maybe a way out? What is all this? Why was all this in his basement? To many questions, no answers at all… oh well into the gold room…

The gold room was strange, there was a fire in each corner and in the middle a black photo torn in half, the picture was of Isaacs mother, it showed Isaac torn in half by the rip in the photo, the photo made Isaac cry a lot, and his tears came out faster and heavier than ever before… Isaac kept the photo, maybe somehow he would find a use for it. He needed something or someone to talk to, he always understood the concept of god due to the religious torment his mum had subjected him to, now seemed like a better time than any to pray… " Errm, Dear L-Lord, my name is Isaac, b-but you know that already… I never asked for anything from you, and I never will again, but I don't want to be alone, and I want to leave… please lord I need you… t-tha- errm I mean amen…" nothing happened, Isaac sat with his legs crossed and eyes closed hoping for a sign.

When Isaac opened his eyes nothing had changed in the room, the stand where the picture had been stood bare and unmoving, the floor still cold and wet as before and the dark, well the dark was the dark, Isaac stood up and shuffled out the door when something in his head felt strange, like pressure building up, then suddenly a screech so agonising it seemed to paralyse Isaac he dropped to the floor and clenched his knees as close to his chest as was possible, "MAGDALENE" in an extremely deep husky voice pierced his head, Isaac opened his eyes and all he could see was the name before him on a black background obscuring all vision, and all at once… gone, everything was back to normal, if this was normal anyway, Isaac dragged himself to his feet, and looked around in confusion, "h-hello?" said a soft voice from the next room.

Isaac sprinted through the door and almost ran headlong into a small fat girl, he couldn't believe this! Had god actually heard and answered his prayer? That explained to painful and obscure vision he had. He stared at her in confusion and was given the same response by her, "hello, errm, it's Magdalene isn't it?" the look of absolute surprise on her face when he said that where only matched when she replied "that means that you must be Isaac!" she seemed rather cheery all things considered, "you don't seem sad magdalene?" he replied, "oh Isaac you fool, I'm petrified, I was somewhere just like this, but now I am in your basement, running from your mother with you, you asked and someone answered, simple as that." Isaac was not sure what to make of all this, "let's just go, we need to get out of here…" he mumbled as they walked off together back into the rest of the basement.

After a very brief lecture on how tears worked and that the photo would help him cry harder if he thought on it, a sick blessing that photo. They cried their way through the floor, Isaac noticed a couple of things about Maggie: the first being that she was a little slower but slightly more hardy than Isaac, secondly she had a small broken heart that if she was injured she would squeeze the heart and inhale like an asthma pump, Isaac was not able to use it for some reason, another sick curse.

Eventually they came to a room that had a black bordered door frame with a skull mounted above and the door itself was red, Isaac knew whatever was in this room was going to be rough, but he had faith in himself and Maggie and he wanted to prove it, with a deep breath he entered the room with Maggie in toe…

BANG! A massive round face jumped from one corner of the room to the centre spraying blood everywhere, the creature smiled at Isaac like a puppy, and then Isaac noticed the disfigured cleft-palet lip, it was sickening to look at but he knew he had to fight it, he thought of the photo and charged…

The monster was proving tough, vomiting barrages of blood and phlegm at Isaac and his companion, the two of them fought rather effectively together considering they never even spoke a plan of any kind, it's as if the two of them had a mental link of some description, and after around a minute the fight was over, the creature stopped moving, wheezed a little began shaking and then it exploded blood and guts everywhere, painting the walls and floor in gore, and then something strange happened, a rock stand appeared in front of Isaac just like in the gold room, on it stood a needle with a grey liquid, remembering how the photo helped him fight before, maybe the needle would to, almost as if he had no choice, he picked up the needle and plunged it into his arm, emptying it, he instantly felt stronger, his eyes ached and his joints felt stronger, he walked towards the hatch, thinking back on how it was a hatch that got him here, this one would make things either a lot easier or far harder, he lowered himself into the hatch, closed his eyes after looking at Maggie for reassurance, and let go… and fell unwittingly into the depths below.
