August stressfully ran her hands through her hair, they had been going at this debate for several minutes now and she thought she may be going crazy. Perhaps she was acting a little over kill but it had been a long day, there was no coffee left this morning when she woke up and she and Bucky had been going at it like rabbits through most of the night. Secretively of course.
The debate had started when Darcy brought her phone down to the communal kitchen, where August and Clint where glaring at the empty coffee container and silently cursing who ever had drank it all, and asked them what they thought the colour of the dress was. Clint and Darcy's opinion was not correct.
Some time had passed and Tony, Steve, Bucky and Sam had just walked into the debate. "It is clearly white and gold" Darcy exclaimed waving her hands at her phone, which was in August's hand as Clint nodded along "no no no and you know what else? No. That dress is clearly blue and black." "Oh we are having the dress debate?" Sam asked politely. "There is no debate the dress is blue and black" August stressed while giving back Darcy's phone. "I've got to agree with curly here, the dress is blue and black" August was so into the debate with Darcy she hadn't realised Tony had come up behind her in an effort to see the picture they were talking about. She didn't even care that he had used the horrid nickname he had stuck her with since day one in relation to her hair, she was just so glad someone agreed with her, and awarded him a bro five for doing so. "I don't know man I see blue and white" "that's because you suck Sam" Tony stated petulantly. "Okay what is the dress debate exactly" Steve asked confused.
After a brief explanation Darcy walked over to Steve and presented to him the picture. As he looked at it a tense silence followed, everyone praying their Captain would answer correctly. Team August and Tony lost. "Uh, the dress is white and gold" the Captain stated and nervously looked toward both Tony and August when Darcy let out a whoop of happiness. "We have the face of America himself on our side so we are clearly correct" She then stated. After a shared look between August and Tony, August replied "we have come to the conclusion that Steve also sucks, no offence America, please don't tell my gran I said that". Another bro five later the phone with the photo had been passed on to Bucky. "I see blue and black?". "YES! We have Bucky Barnes on our side, therefore we are obviously correct, because who on earth could say Bucky is inaccurate" August said with glee, missing the look of pride that covered Bucky's face at her words. Darcy smirked evilly, "wasn't it just last week when we got our morning coffee that you said you no longer liked Bucky because he thought the show scrubs was boring?" Crap crap crap and crap sticks. "You said what?" Bucky asked. Ignored. "Well nobody is perfect, right? All is forgiven." August backtracked while glancing nervously across to Bucky. "Really, nobody is prefect huh? Not even Dylan O'Brien than?" "You son of a bitch". Confused and a little jealous Bucky asked " who is Dylan O'Brien", "just some actor August is obsessed with" Darcy replied "obsessed is a strong word I'm not obsessed I can just appreciate brilliance okay?, besides we're getting off track the dress is blue and black" she hoped she stated with finality. "No it's not!" Okay now Clint decides it's time to talk. Great.
"There's only one person who can settle this" Tony stated, confused looks spread across the room. "Jarvis?" Steve questioned. "What? No. Bruce" Tony high fived August appreciatively, glad they were on the same page.
Once they had all reached the labs, yes everyone came. Bruce came rushing across the room towards them. "What's wrong? You said it was a science emergency? Is everyone okay". Each of us shared a guilty look for worrying our friend, until Darcy stepped forward, phone in hand and asked "what colour is this dress" Bruce accepted the phone and looked around at everyone extremely confused and slightly exasperated. "The so called emergency is the colour of this dress?" He stated incredulously, after everyone nodded Darcy explained our predicament.
We waited anxiously as Bruce took another look at the phone but our nerves were soon put to ease when the greatest words August swears she has ever heard left his lips "um the dress is blue and black" he continued on with some sort of sciencey explanation to what could be happening but August had tuned it out, too busy jumping up and down with satisfaction to pay attention.
Everyone went back to whatever it was they were meant to be doing when the great dress debate of 2015 commenced. The science bros had figured out it was something to do with the lighting and effects the person who took the picture used while taking it.
Bucky and August were now standing in her apartment laughing about the entire discussion when he brought up something she was praying he had forgotten. "So Dylan O'Brien huh?" We have reached awkward territory she thought. "Okay I may find him to be a little perfect" "there was no little, it was pretty set in stone" "but that's the problem he is so perfect that he isn't perfect, perfection sucks. He may be perfect in the general sense but you're prefect for me" Bucky grinned, it wasn't common for August to speak so delicately about their relationship. "Is that so" he murmured, wrapping his arms around her "ugh yes now can we stop with the sappy and have sex now please, because I've got to admit ever since you said that dress was blue and black I've been practically dying to jump your bones". "Well since you asked so nicely doll how can I say no" he laughed as he picked her up and carried her to the bedroom.

He left Augusts apartment the morning after, to head back to his own before Steve noticed his absence. As he waited for the elevator to arrive at his floor he grinned happily, deciding then and there that saying the White and gold dress he saw on Darcy's phone was Blue and Black was definitely one of the best decisions he's ever made.
