Author's Note: "If I know what love is, it is because of you." ~Hermann Hesse

Total Waige fluff. I saw that quote and just had to write something. Takes place after they've been dating a while. Which I hope happens for real soon, because COME ON GUYS!

I don't own Scorpion. I don't really own anything. Don't sue.

It was getting late, and Walter and Paige were relaxing on the couch at Paige's apartment. Ralph had gone to sleep long ago, but neither of them was ready to give into their mutual exhaustion. Paige was deep into her novel, some light-hearted, fluffy thing that Walter always teased her about (she claimed she read it as a break from the chaos and adventure of their jobs, but Walter could never understand the point). Walter was absentmindedly flipping through a research paper about the prospects of iron oxide nanocrystals, but he found himself reading the same paragraph over and over again. He stood up suddenly, pacing back and forth.

"Walter?" Paige asked, curious about his sudden behavior.

"I, uh… I need to … say something."

Paige sat up on the couch, smiling at her boyfriend. "Okay?" Her smile made him weak, making this conversation harder (but so much more necessary.)

"As you know, um… we've been in a relationship for some time now…" Walter started, stumbling over his words.

Paige laughed. "Yes, we have." She stood up, moving closer to Walter, and put her arms around his neck, encouraging him to focus. "And it's been wonderful."

"I… I feel the same."

"Why are you nervous? It's just me." Paige looked into Walter's eyes, trying to read his emotions. He had improved drastically in handling his emotions, although he still sometimes struggled with expressing them. "You haven't said anything that isn't true."

"I know. I just…" Walter paused, looking into her eyes. Paige had started out explaining the world to him, but now her lessons had failed him completely, when it mattered the most. How could he explain what it was like, how he felt when their eyes met and the world stood still? How her touch electrified him so that nothing else mattered? How being with her had become the most important thing in his world?

"I love you, Walter. It's okay – we're okay." Paige said, urging him to continue. She cupped his cheeks and gave him a light kiss.

"That's it. I… I know I have expressed doubt over love before."

Paige smiled, remembering their first conversation about love all that time ago, and the many more since then.

"However, there is, um, no doubt that I've changed since I met you. I, uh, find myself missing you when you are not around, and infinitely happier when you are. I enjoy the feeling of your body, and waking up next to you. And the feeling I get when I look into your eyes, it um… I just… get lost.."

Paige bit her lip, tears building in the corners of her eyes.

"I have come to the conclusion that this is love. There is no other logical explanation for – "

Paige cut him off, kissing him. He deepened the kiss, pulling her closer, trying to say what he couldn't with words. Walter broke the kiss only to finish his thought – "I love you, Paige."

Love comments and reviews! This one I had a bit more trouble with, but I knew I had to do something with that quote.
