Remus opened his eyes and gasped. Green lights, explosions and Tonks. The last things he ever saw. He stood up and dusted the dirt off his shoulder; he moved a piece of hair out of his eyes and attempted to grasp a vague idea of what just happened. The last thing he ever saw was Tonks, beautiful Tonks.. The love of his life, the woman who loved his unconditionally. And now he was gone, his wife was his everything, he would do anything to protect her. A tear dropped from his eyelid as he looked around to see a much cleaner and whiter version of Kings Cross.
As the tear dropped to the ground, an old, raggedy hand was placed on his shoulder. "Moony, Moony, Moony.. You're late." A familiar voice said. Remus turned around and saw his best friend, Sirius Black. With his long black hair and wrinkly skin. He hadn't aged a day. The two men hugged each other, the two mates had been re-united. "Sirius! Where's James? What's going on?" Remus asked, still in shock. "He'll be over in a couple of minutes, he's just talking with Snape, first time I've seen them talk without them wanting to rip each other's heads off." He chuckled lightly. And as if on cue, James came running at Remus and jumped on his back. "Moony!" He jumped off and grinned, before hugging his best mate. "Long time no see. Thanks for looking out for Harry." He smiled. The three friends grinned at each other. "It's a long time since I've seen that look Prongs. Haven't seen that since high school. I know that look." Remus chuckled, reminiscing of James and Sirius' famous pranks. The three friends wrapped their arms around each other in a line and walked together. "What should we do first? We've got a lot of catching up to do boys." Sirius laughed.
Several weeks had passes, the three grown men talking about old times, catching up and making up for lost time. That is, until, a short, scruffy man was found curled up under a bench, gnawing on an old bone. Sirius walked over to the bench and pulled out the man from under the bench. As he realized who it was, his eyes opened wide and he slammed him against a wall. "Well, well, well. What do we have here. A lying, double-crossing rat, also known as Peter Pettigrew." Sirius snarled. "What should I do with you?" He growled viciously at him.
James and Remus were with Lily, talking and enjoying lunch, when they heard the familiar scream of Wormtail. They exchanged quick glances and bolted to where the noise was coming from. They eventually found Sirius threatening Peter. Remus looked down, saddened by the fact that his friends were still quarrelling. James stared at Peter, but not with anger, but with pity. Yes, this was the man who had sold his family out to Voldemort and the reason that Lily and himself died, but this man was weak and defenceless, this man was his friend. He looked at Sirius and signalled him to let him go. Reluctantly, Sirius dropped him. Peter was gasping for breath and was on his knees, begging for mercy. James simply chuckled, before grabbing his collar and yanking him up, he then hugged his friend. He said 3 simple words. "I forgive you." He grinned at his friend. They all admired James for this, for nobody could forgive someone who did something so terrible. After Sirius and Remus reconciled their friendship with Peter and the four friends walked off together into the distance. Mischief had truly been managed.
