It was exactly a year after the Battle of Hogwarts and Hermione Granger was hyperventilating. Not because of the awful - and wonderful - memories of that day, but because her NEWT exams that, in her words, determined one's whole future, were less than a week away. Although she had been studying for weeks and weeks already, she didn't think she was ready.

Sitting in the stuffy common room alone on a perfect spring day, she was practically sobbing because she had convinced herself that she couldn't possibly get all O's. She took a deep breath and was starting to rewrite her studying schedule for the 15th time when the common room door burst open. She glanced up, prepared to scream at whoever had dared to disturb her. When she saw whom it was, her eyes opened wide and her mouth flapped silently for a few seconds.

"Harry Potter, what do you think you are doing interrupting me three days before my first NEWT exam? I am impossibly busy and I simply do not have time- "

"Hermione, that's exactly why I'm here. Now come on, we're leaving." Seeing that she was not going to come willingly, Harry strode across the room and grabbed her by the hand, pulling her up out of the large armchair and propelling her across and out of the Gryffindor common room, ignoring her frantic protests.

By the time they reached the Great Hall, she had stopped shouting and was simply pouting as Harry guided her out the castle's doors and out on to the grassy lawn full of Hogwarts students enjoying the sunny day. Students of all ages and houses eagerly waved to Harry. He nodded and smiled at familiar faces as he picked his way through the many blankets towards a particular picnic blanket by especially beautiful spot on the lake.

There was a certain lanky someone with bright orange hair already sitting on the picnic blanket staring out over the water. Then, he turned around and grinned when he saw them.

"Ah good, you managed to get her out of the tower. I have to admit, I wasn't sure if Harry Potter could even get Hermione Granger to stop studying," said Ron.

As her grimace slowly became a smile, Hermione said, "I didn't come willingly you know."

Harry laughed, "I can attest to that! Well, nice seeing you Hermione, but I need to find another Weasley right now." He looked around, finally spotting a ginger girl sitting alone on a blanket. "See you in a bit guys," he said as he jogged over to join Ginny.
