Amberpaw had noticed many times in her life how different she was from other cats. She had never felt quite the same as her siblings. As a kit she hadn't felt drawn to the forest excited to explore discover and adventure she was happy enough staying warm inside with no risk of injury. At her apprentice ceremony she didn't feel it was worth it she looked up at her mentor thornclaw and could see disappointment in his gaze, the whole clan could tell she was different but didn't think much of it. Her father had told her times of when he was kittypet and how horrible it was but to amberpaw it made sense no danger no effort no cares. Once in the forest when the patrol she was in met a twoleg while her friends cowered away fleeing into the bushes she felt drawn toit something stirred inside her telling her it wouldn't hurt her.

Now on her first hunting assessment she fought the urge to give up and go back to camp she knew that she had to carry on hunting and feed the clan. She sniffed the air and followed a scent she then spotted a squirrel and began quietly as she could stalking it through the ferns and bracken as she got closer it turned around saw amberpaw and ran up the tree.

"amberpaw I told you not to stalk everything how you stalk a mouse," shouted thornclaw "this is useless."

"Just like me," muttered amberpaw under her breath.

"Look lets go back to camp shall we" instructed thornclaw in a softer tone

Amberpaw gave a slight nod as they walked through the forest

"is there something on your mind are you worried about something." Asked thornclaw

Amberpaw shook her head deep in thought, as they approached the hollow thornclaw gave amberpaw one last questioning look and went to share tongues with the other senior warriors and no doubt tell them everything and embarrass her she did try her hardest she always tried but she didfeel something in her was being held back she didn't have a warriors instinct she didn't have the reflexes everyone else had and needed in battle. She just wasn't a proper apprentice.

Amberpaw sighed and went to the apprentices den curled up in her nest and tried to forget all her worries.
