A/N (important)

Hey everyone! My character Miya, is based off of Bunny from the original PPGS and this story was inspired from it. Most of the future chapters will be happier. I hope you enjoy it! Oh, and this prologue is told from Miya's point of view.

Disclaimer: All rightful ideas go to their proper owners. I only own the story and Miya. Obviously not the original Bunny.

Prologue:

Sometimes, even the smartest people can be wrong. They can over look the little things, miscalculate the price for that cute dress, or maybe, just maybe, even miscount the number of hurling streaks of white light being blasted from their hometown.

I was thirteen years old when it happened. My younger brother Kyle, my mother, and my older sister Riley, were all trapped. My father and I were safely on the outside of our apartment. I appeared to be waiting patiently, but on the inside I felt like I needed to do something much more. Anyone else could hear the bustling city sounds of New York, but to me it was silent as I waited for the news of the life or the death of my family.

I shook in fear as the flames continued to consume the apartment.

My father looked me in the eyes and told me it was over and that they couldn't find our family. I didn't want to believe him. So I didn't and I ran.

I could hear my father yelling my name, but I wasn't able to stop. I wasn't able to take the news. Somewhere in my heart I couldn't stop believing because I loved them. Suddenly, I stopped myself from running and found that I couldn't move my feet. I was too shocked to move, watching as a flash of vibrant white light absorbed into my body.

From what I can remember after that, was that Kyle was alive and somehow I had something to do with it. I remember waking up in a hospital bed only to find that I was covered in burn marks. I couldn't help but notice strange purple belt that I didn't quite recognize. Then, my father told me that my mother and sister were never found.

I was trying so desperately to hold back my tears and I could feel my heart crack. In the end I didn't end up crying, not yet anyways. I think I was in too much shock.

When he left the room, Kyle told me I saved him. I didn't believe it, but then I noticed how unharmed he looked. Not even a single scratch mark reflected the tragedy of last night. Then, he handed me a little white jump rope with plum purple handles. It had belonged to Riley. Looking down for a moment, I flashed back to us laughing and playing through whole days in the park. We were so close and I will always love her so much. A single tear rolled down my cheek. Why can't it be like that everyday? It was so innocent, so happy, so pure.

I glanced back up at him. We watched each other awkwardly for a brief moment. It looked almost as if he wanted to tell me something, but then he gave me a sad smile as he left the room.

Another gentle tear streamed down my face and quickly absorbed into the bed sheets. Then another one. And then, one more; but this one fell straight onto the rounded clasp of the belt. Something so mysterious happened. It lit up. I lit up. The room was filled with a shimmering white light that surrounded me completely. I felt like I could do anything. I was a different person. I transformed.
