Rarity: Art of the Dead
Mane Ship:
Rarity x Spike
Chapter One
Making dresses is harder than you think. The kind of rude ponies you see coming in here, you'd think they owned the place! Sure, nobody ever said it was easy, but you could cut here a break every once in a while. The worst part is when they come complaining to her when it doesn't work out. Call her a control freak, but for once she wished it could just be easy. For once, she wanted to enjoy what she was meant to do. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
Rarity sighed as she walked outside to turn the sign on the door from open to closed. She hadn't been this happy to go home in ages. Thank Celestia nopony came in at the last second.
"Hi Rarity," said a voice behind her.
She turned around. It was Twilight. Good, at least it was someone easy to deal with. Twilight was always a joy to be around, especially on days like today.
"Twilight! How are you today?" asked Rarity.
"I'm good. How are you?"
"Tired. What brings you here?"
"Berryshine is heading to Canterlot to visit her father and she wants me to watch her house. You know I don't like it there. I don't even like Berry Punch to be honest, but she started to beg me and I didn't want to argue with her so I just said yes. Will you come with me?"
"Ok, sure."
If there was anything in all of Equestria Rarity wanted to do less, it would be going to Berryshine's house. Even if she wasn't there, it was still awful having to go there.
Berryshine was just…weird. Rumor was that she had no reflection at all, though why was anyone's guess. One day while in Rarity's shop, she ran straight into the sewing machine and passed out. When Rarity went to check on her, she had no pulse. Then, she watched her wake up again, and she still had no pulse! Twilight was just telling her the other day it's like she doesn't breathe at all.
She was the richest pony in Ponyville, and lived in a big castle on the outskirts of town. As the two ponies walked closer and closer to it, Rarity began to get more and more nervous. She'd never been to Berryshine's house. Who knew what was in there?
She laughed a little thinking about being this nervous. It was wrong to assume things about people, especially people you don't know.
They stopped suddenly in front of two large, rusty gates.
"Well…here we are," laughed Twilight. Rarity could tell she was a little bit nervous too.
"Yes. Did Berryshine give you the key?" asked Rarity.
"No. I don't know if there even is a key! I don't see a slot to put the key in, do you?" asked Twilight.
There was a loud, long screech as the gates slowly pulled themselves apart, retreating inward to the dark woods inside.
"I guess that answers our questions." Twilight said.
The two mares wandered in, not knowing just what was coming ahead.
