Title: Take me to the ball game
Summary: Mike and Connie spend their day off at a baseball game, to their surprise they are targeted by a man at the opposite side of the stadium. After he has been targeted, Mike's breathing stops, will he survive? One-shot.
Characters: Mike Cutter and Connie Rubirosa
The music blared and crowd chants began to increase at the end of the first innings, it was beginning to become a very exciting baseball game.
One man in a navy blue jumper and Jeans shuffled his way along the seats. He delicately juggled the hotdogs and drinks on his way over to his seat.
On the opposite side of the grandstands, a man was putting the lense up to his eyes, carefully scoping out his next victims.
"Are you right, there, Mike?" Connie asked, offering her hands up to catch him if he ever was to fall.
"Yep, I'm right, now. Made it without any accidents" Mike said as he plumped in his seat next to her.
"Arrrre you sure about that?" Connie interrogated.
"Yes, why?" He sat idle as Connie pointed to the mustard he spilt on his jumper, "Oh." He gestured.
She laughed and gave him a serviette. Poor Mike felt quite embarrassed, quickly rubbing the jumper with the serviette, trying to get the stain out. Meanwhile a flicker of light momentarily blinded Connie's eyes, as it caught and reflected the sun.
"Ow, what was that?" She whispered as she shaded her eyebrows with her hand.
"SHOOT! SHOOT! SHOOT!" the spotter yelled at the man.
Mike began mumbling to himself, not realising that Connie gasped and the crowd around them went silent. He nearly burnt a hole in his jumper rubbing the stain just before Connie suddenly yelled, "Mike! Mike! Quick!"
"Wh- ..wwhhhmmm," He couldn't complete his sentence because of the other face that was suddenly attached to his. But he didn't complain. Connie slowly backed off and leant back, turned and cheered, "WOO!" at the big screen. The crowd replied with a roar of excitement as they witnessed the two DA's on the Kiss-cam!
Connie asked Mike the same question once again, when she noticed that he was struggling to breathe, "Are you right, Mike?"
He answered in his deep voice, as though he was hypnotised, "...I sure am!"
The End!
A/N: SURPRISE Cutterosas!
Bet you didn't expect that one-shot coming from a Luporosa!
I was thinking about adding "and then the baseball hit Mike in the head" but I thought the shaken-up man had already been through enough. Breathe Mike, Breathe!
