I had been walking for hours but I still couldn't clear my head. Forty two years ago I had won my games and now once again the capitol demanded the pleasure of my company. I thought they promised us peace and safety but it's just like them to change their plan, even if it is to 'spice up' their massacres of innocent kids. To prove that even the strongest can fall. Well I'm sick of it. Sick of their games, their power, their apathy.

I had been walking for so long that I no longer knew where I was but it was far away from the factories of district 8 and the forests of mountainous expanse in front of me felt like another world, a world of careless freedom away from the captivity and control of the capitol's puppet strings. Above me jagged rocks jutted out and ominous clouds were gathered around the peak, the sure signs of my future and impending doom whether I stayed out here to face the elements or went back to the Capitol's theatre and performed.

Relishing in my new found freedom I began to explore the desolate rock face. Then all too soon my suspicions were proved right as heavy droplets of rain began to fall. To avoid the hazard of slipping I ducked inside a cave and huddled up against the wall looking longingly out into the rain and hoping my masters would not miss me even with my delayed return. As I crawled back towards the mouth of the cave trying to see if there was any break in the clouds I heard a soft cough from behind me and nearly fell to my death. I wasn't alone.

'Who are you?' I muttered trying to keep fear absent from my tone. The figure was clearly feminine but her face was too shrouded to tell what she made of me or who she could be.

'I am the spirit of Delphi, speaker of the prophecies of Phoebus Apollo, slayer of the mighty Python. Approach seeker, and ask.' Her voice carried a hint of challenge and her eyes danced with mischief. The Oracle? My mind was working overtime, why did this have to be the time my ability to instantly place people failed... I remembered hearing about her, it must have been years ago when I was a child and that was when it clicked.

'The Oracle? Like in the myths? But I thought the myths were... well only myths though'

'There you are wrong child of Venus. The myths are very much alive even to this day but only those with enough mind can see it. Come, you have much to learn before your games begin.'
