'This is a...charming place,' Hera said, taking a sip of her ale and Sabine looked around at the dark, dingy cantina. The few other patrons that there were sat hunched over their drinks or huddled in small groups, talking in low voices.

'It is grim, ' Sabine said, swallowing most of her ale in one go. 'I used to spend a lot of time in places like these when I was learning to fight. It's as close to a home as anywhere I've known...'

'I thought Mandalore was your home...'

'Mandalore's my home world,' Sabine interrupted. 'My people are nomads. We go where there's work, so we have to carry home with us.'

'In your hearts, you mean?'

'No. In who we are. Being a Mandalorian isn't a matter of birth or race. Anyone can become one. And, when your so far from your homeworld, we wear who we are in the same way that we wear our armour. There was an old comrade of my Father's, a man named Skirata, who...'

'What are you doing here, Mando?' A voice asked and Sabine looked up to see a bronze-skinned human with a blue tattoo over one eye staring down at her, his arms folded across his chest.

'Having a drink,' Sabine said, taking another swig of her ale and the man's eyes narrowed.

'Well, you can have it somewhere else.'

'What's your problem?'

'My problem is that your a knuckle-dragging thug for hire like all you Mandos...argh!'

He staggered backwards as Sabine's fist connected with his jaw and she came to her feet, her second punch dropping him to the floor.

'You piece of...' a Mon Cal at the bar hissed, stopping in his tracks as Hera levelled her blaster at him.

'I think you should leave,' she said and his eyes flicked towards his fallen friend, who was just getting to his feet.

'Last chance,' Hera said, her finger tightening on the trigger.

'Okay, okay,' the Mon Cal said, putting his friend's arm over his shoulder and heading towards the door. Hera watched them go before holstering her blaster and turning towards Sabine.

'What was that about?' she asked as Sabine dropped into her seat with a sigh, draining the rest of her ale.

'Some people don't like Mandos,' she said. 'They think that we're just soldiers for hire...'

'I'm sorry...'

'It's okay. I'm used to it...'
