Astrid looked at Hiccup, trying to figure out why she ever picked on him.
He was so amazing in her eyes now, it was hard to believe it.
Ever since he swept her off her feet (quite literally), she looked at him with a new feeling. He was respected by the village now, not another fly on the wall. Whenever anybody needed dragon help, Hiccup was the one they sought out. Hiccup was the champion. He saved Berk from what would have been total annihilation.
Astrid was not jealous in any way. She realized her feelings for him the night everything in her life changed. How could she be jealous of the boy who changed her life? The boy who saved her life many, many times? The boy she now loved with her whole being? Her saving grace?
Hiccup was the kind of boy you could see glow with every step. The boy whose halo was brightest. Astrid felt better in any situation if he was there. He was everything she needed. She could never shut him out again. She loved his light.
No matter how much he cried, his halo would still glow. Every time he was in a difficult situation, his light would get brighter. No one could take that light away. No matter what happened to him. The hard things in his life where making him grow stronger, and Astrid loved him for it. She had her angel now. She was addicted to his light.
Anywhere she looked, he was there. She felt surrounded by him. He was in her dreams, in her every thought. His halo shone brightest then, and she hoped it would never fade away.
Why had she ever rejected him? Why hadn't she noticed his halo before?
As these questions flooded her flustered mind, Hiccup looked at her with a strange look. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Astrid bit the inside of her cheek. "I can't believe I ever hated you."
Hiccup grinned. "I can't believe I was ever jealous of you."
Astrid felt the light pouring off of him. His halo glowed bright, giving her the urge to kiss him.
"What's wrong?" Hiccup asked, jarring Astrid from her thoughts.
"I can see your halo," Astrid whispered before locking her lips with his.
...
Just a fluffy idea I had after listening to the song "Halo" over and over again (I do that a lot). It reminded me of Hiccstrid, so... yeah.
I like listening to the Acapella version of this song by Pitch Slapped for some reason... I normally don't like Acapella covers but I listened to that version first.
Thank you all for reading, hope you all have a wonderful day:)
