Hey!! This is my first Maximum Ride story. It is a oneshot. I really like it.

I finished FANG about an hour or two ago. This takes place right after The Other Epilogue.

WARNING: Contains FANG spoilers. You have been warned.

She looked over toward the horizon. The sun was rising, but the nightmare had not ended. She had hoped that she would wake up and see his dark hair, his eyes, handsome face. He would give her a lopsided grin that would make her heart race.

The sun was so beautiful and the early summer air was warm against her skin. But why did she feel so cold?

A lone tear slid down Max's face. She did not take notice of it, or the beauty before her. She was thinking about Fang.

If he was here, he would have wiped away the tear. He would have pulled Max close to keep her warm. He would whisper something comforting and she would smile. The would stand together, content, and watch the sun rise.

A tear rolled down the other cheek. Fang was not here; he was somewhere else. Doing who knows what. Did he miss Max as much as she missed him?

The morning sky was cloudless and beautiful. Last night, after Max had finally stopped most of her crying, used all of her strength to keep herself from searching for him. She would have looked all night, all over the world, until she had found Fang.

When she would have found him, she would have cried and hugged and kissed Fang. Then she would have kicked his abandoning butt until her foot fell off. They would have laughed at their own teenage, bird kid studipness and fallen into a comfortable silence, listening to each other breath. It would have been one of those perfect fairytale endings.

But Max didn't leave their new house. She spent the night on the couch in the living room. Nudge had chosen to stay with her, but crashed around two. Max spent the whole night awake. A far away look never left her face as she thought. About Fang. About his letter. About them.

All the times at the School when Fang would try to get her to smile. All the times they fought with each other in a battle. They times they had agueed. Each time they had kissed. Would she ever feel his warm lips press against hers?

Fang said he would meet her at the cliff where they flew with the hawks in twenty years. Twenty years was a long time. So much could happen. The world could end, or be too messed up to be a world. Fang could be hurt. Max could be hurt. They could be de- No, she wouldn't go there.

They would see each other before than. Wiping her tears away, Max stood up straight and took in the beauty of the sky. This was a small world. They flock, Max and Fang, were connected. They would see each other long before twenty years.

They air was warm and the view was beautiful. When Max saw Fang, that is what it would be like. She would feel his warm body next to hers, his warm lips against hers. He would fill her with warmth. She would see the most beautiful person in the world. She would not be alone.

Someday soon, they would be together again. Max smiled and walked inside. The others were moving. Today was not the start of a new flock or a new chapter. It was the start of a new day.

It would make me super happy if you review. Don't care if it is possitive or negative. Reviews are reviews. ;~)
