Ronald Weasley's Disappointments

Ron and Hermione were sitting in the living room of their flat. Hermione was reading a book while listening to Ron attempt to get their daughter Rose to eat a chocolate frog. "Come on Rosie just eat one for Daddy, just one," Ron pleaded. The two year old looked up at her father with her big blue eyes and stuck out her tongue. "Please baby just eat one so I know you're normal unlike your mother." "I resent that," Hermione said without looking up from her book, "have you ever thought that maybe she just doesn't like chocolate frogs the way you do?" "She is my daughter, how can she not like it?" Ron questioned his wife. Hermione smiled at him.

Little did Ron know that as he complained to Hermione, Rose was wandering down the hallway to their room. Her birthday had been almost a month ago and she had still yet to find where her mother had hid the toy broom Uncle Harry had given her. All she could remember was seeing the broom and wanting to ride it then her mum took it and said she needed to be older to have it. She was determined to find it.

"Ron," Hermione said looking around the room, "where is Rose?" Ron sat up and looked around the living room. "I'll go and find her," Ron said as he stood up. Just then a small figure zoomed past him. "Um Hermione, I think I found her" Ron said. Rose had found the toy broom and was now flying around her fathers legs. Hermione looked up and sighed, she had tried so hard to keep her from that broom, but she knew that Rose cherished Quiditch like her father. On her first birthday her favorite present had been a bright orange Chuddly Cannons jersey from her Uncle Bill. "Well at least she has my quiditch skills," said Ron happily, "I was worried that she wouldn't be like me at all." Hermione smiled, she thought she might as well give in, just to keep Ron happy.

After putting Rose to bed that night, Ron and Hermione sat down on their couch. "Do you think she will ever like Chocolate Frogs like I do Hermione?" She looked at him before replying, "I think that you should be happy that you have a daughter that loves you, has amazing flying skills, loves the cannons, and can already read at age 2." Ron smiled, "I guess your right, I love her even if she doesn't eat like I do, although I may disown her if she ever pulls for Bulgaria." Hermione laughed and cuddled up against Ron.

"I guess you will just have to try with the next one," Hermione looked at him and smiled. "Yea but I don't want to have to wait that long." "Well I guess this is good news then, you are only going to wait 9 months. That shouldn't be to bad should it," Hermione smiled at the look on Ron's face. "Really Hermione, are you sure?" "Yes I'm sure." Ron picked her up and swung her around in his arms. "Just think maybe the next one will eat chocolate frogs and love the cannons. Wouldn't that be perfect?" Hermione looked at her husband of 6 years and kissed him. Ron loved it when she answered his questions like that. Maybe he wasn't really disappointed, he would just start the next baby on chocolate earlier, he just wouldn't tell Hermione. He smiled and kissed her again. "Ron, you know that I'm not going to let you give chocolate to the baby until he or she turns one." He laughed. Oh how well she knows me he thought.
