Proud?

A/n: okay this is just some random oneshot I wrote once, it was supposed to be a part of a bigger story but I changed my mind (obviously)

The rain had encased her world, shutting everything else out. It was only her, and him. Their swords clashed yet again and power of the blow, his power, made her arms go numb for several seconds. She tightened her grip around the hilt of her shigure blade, And studied her opponent.

Roronoa Zoro, bountyhunter turned pirate.

How she hated him.

She had met him just earlier that day, and already he had humiliated her. By not giving his true identity, he had player her for a fool. And now it was time for him to pay the piper.

The rain continuously fell, making the entire situation even more miserable. Her clothes were soaked; his didn't seem too dry either. Yet he fought her, constantly smiling.

Oh how his smile annoyed her. How could he find this amusing? Was he simple mocking her?

His blades came in on her time after time. His movements, so fluent, caused her to slowly back up. She awaited her chance, and when it finally showed up, she gratefully took it and struck.

Roronoa Zoro parried with a single katana. Not any single katana but the very same he held in his mouth. The amazing Wado Ichimonjiwhich he SO didn't deserve. She wanted to take it from him, confiscate it just for herself.

Slowly but steady she lost ground until she could feel a wall against her back.

Fiercely, yet almost manically she defended herself from his attacks,

But inevitably, his swords caught hers and send it flying.

She saw his katana come towards her and prepared for at quick end.

Ktchiiink.

A sound very close to her ear made her open her eyes.

To her surprise she stared right into the eyes of her opponent, Zoro.

He was close. Too close. She could feel his breath, hot against her face.

He was smiling, so strangely cordially, like he was proud, not of himself but of her.

"I win"

With that he was gone and she hated him more than ever. Yet nothing could make her forget the moment they shared. They say you never truly know someone until you fight them.

She fought him for the first time there in Loguetown and she would never forget the way he had smiled, or how it took several minutes for her blush to disappear.
