It took for too long to realize why he was always trying to protect her. She had always assumed he took his job very seriously; after all, he protected her whole team. But slowly, incredibly slowly according to Angela, it dawned on her. And soon after she realized her desire to keep him safe and healthy was a different kind of human nature.
Make no bones about it, Temperance Brennan was, and is, in love with Seely Booth. However she still had one minor problem.
She turned back toward the house she had just run from. A man, whose name she failed to remember now, stood in the doorway; one hand on the doorframe and the other hanging by his side, unresolved from a previous shock.
"I'm sorry." She shouted back to him.
"For what?" A voice questioned from the phone. She had forgotten about Angela whom she'd called after her revelation.
"Not you Ange, I was talking to my date."
"Bern, sweetie, is this the same guy from last night?"
"Yes." Brennan responded as she started her car.
"You've been seeing that guy off and on for like 2 months, and suddenly you decide you're in love with Booth? Isn't' that a little strange?"
"I don't see how."
"Oh sweetie," Angela sighed "Please tell me you didn't call him…"
"Booth?" Brennan finished for her.
Angela chuckled, Brennan may not do well when she communicates within society, but she knew wrong from right.
"You did, didn't you?" Angela questioned readily anticipating the affirmative answer.
"Just the one time." Brennan slammed her car door and began backing out of the driveway.
"Uh Bren," Angela laughed, "what exactly are you doing?"
"Going to find Booth." Brennan responded and the engine revved before the call clicked off leaving Angela amused and confused.

Temperance adjusted her mirror as she sped down the street, her date, Mike that was his name, now stood in his driveway watching her retreat, still in a state of shock.

Got a lead foot down on my
accelerator and the rearview mirror torn off

She stole one last glance as she took the corner. She'd never go back again, she knew wrong from right, and where she belonged now.

"Hey bones, what's up?" Booth answered the door with his trademark charm smile, but he didn't have time for anyother words, bones pulled him down by his shirt and kissed him, and for once, she was at home.
