Saving Lost Life
A short One-Shot/poem for the amazing game Shadow of the Colossus
A risen Sword gathered the light, creating a path through forbidden wasteland. Guided towards lairs where mythical creatures hide, created from stone and fur and a dark soul. They get woken from slumber. A battle between the great and the worthless. Between gods and a mortal.
But no matter the pain and no matter the prise, I will save your lost life.
Fought through glory and fall, the light marks the beast's weakness. Like a bug with a poisonous bite, climbs up and strikes. Hurt and weakened, the powerful titan falls down. Another statue shattered, another soul taken, Their power reinforced.
But no matter the struggle and no matter the cost, I will save your life that had been lost.
Finally, the end of the journey, the parole completed. Returning to the alter with dying hope life had returned. Only to find said accomplishments had been used. With power restored, Dormin raises Their Colossus form. But the Sword was taken and plumed down the spiral room. A pool of light was created, sucking down the demon creature.
But mercy was granted and a doomed child was reborn. The horns on its head marking its cursed fate, as Mono held the infant close. On top of the shrine, a special garden grows. She whispers; ''I promise you, my child, that no matter what I'll have to do and no matter what I'll have to give, I will save your regained life.''
