"Hello, Yuki." Zero is saying. His tone is soft and gentle, a feather brushing on one's skin. He touched her cheek, pale and so much like a beautiful china doll's skin, delicate pieces and sunshine smiles, and beams.

"You're pretty."

Her eyes are open, wide and her expression is frozen. Zero thinks it doesn't suit her at all, because she's supposed to be smiling and happy and calling his name sweetly, and tries to stretch her lips with his fingers, but when he lets them go the smile falls.

He tries again, one two, three times, but keeps failing, and eventually gives up.

He thinks she's still very lovely that way anyway, and ignores the flaw. He smiles, and it is slight.

"…Really, really pretty."

There is a line of crimson around her neck, and red tear shaped diamonds that trail down from it to her uniform. It makes her prettier, red and white and black, and she's oh so pretty Zero can't stand it—he holds her face and kisses her lips.

Yuki doesn't say anything.

Zero's fangs pierce her lips and split the skin and make it all bloody and red and Zero licks it away, tongue lingering on cherry lips.

"You're very, very pretty, Yuki."

The backs of his eyes sting but he ignores them. The bright red diamonds drops and lands on her lap and stains the white of her uniform.

He stands up and leaver the knife on a table. It is bloodstained, like the spaces under his fingernails and on his hand. The knife covers the golden sakura flowers carvings on the furniture and smudges it deep red.

Blood is dripping down her neck.

"I love you, Yuki."

Outside, cherry blossoms fall and are not stained.

"That's why I can't let Kaname have you."

There is no smile or tears. Only blood and wide brown eyes that don't shine.

"I've nothing to say anymore," he smiles. It is wide and sad and happy.

"Goodbye, Yuki."

The door closes. Red diamonds glow in the sun and drops, and dye a white blouse red. It is not winter, so they keep falling and staining white and the door is not open, but no one cared.
