I could hear talking inside the house. I wondered who he was talking to. Did he have company? I didn't want to impose. . . .
I bounced up and down on my heels as I rang his doorbell.
His doorbell. I muffled a squeal in my hand and felt my face turn pink. To pass the few seconds that felt like hours, I just stared at the sidewalk. He walked here every day, and now I was standing on this ground. . . . I heard a sound inside and pricked up my ears.
Footsteps.
The doorknob turned. . . .

I bit down on my lip, hard. "T-Toby?" I spluttered, feeling like my face must be beet-red by now. I noticed he was holding an iPhone by his face. Without thinking, I waved at it. "Hi Audience! I'm one of you!" I said excitedly, breaking into a fangirly grin.
