Prologue.
August 29th, 1943. Bordeaux, Gironde, France.
11:30 p.m. That was the time that the stench of blood filled the nostrils of four individuals. Well four living ones at least. The other was sprawled out on the ground, a knife driven into his thigh; he had been bled out.
Now of course, these individuals weren't calling for help, because if they likely had, the authorities would be there by then.
However they hadn't, but instead they severed the man's head and carried his body underneath a bridge of stone and steel. Three of them sat, while the other bent over the body hungrily- once he had finished with the ill-expected victim- he buried the bones in the cemetery- right next to some other deceased person.
"Would you like me to tell her?" One of them inquired, the sticky red substance clotting the fur on the side of his face and the corners of his lips pulling upward into a toothy grin.
The other turned his head, dark eyes peering annoyedly at the other. "I'll tell her, I don't trust any of you around my sibling, especially not you."
The other two didn't speak. The dark-haired male who had last spoken, quietly scaled the first floor of his house- and opened a window in which drafty white curtains hid behind. He shut it quickly after, not wanting to let the chilled air in.
"Wake up, sœur." He spoke in a thick French accent, and tapped the sleeping figure on the shoulder softly.
Flinching at this, the young lady opened her eyes- and looked quite annoyed. "What do you want at this time of night?" She gave him an unwavering glare, staring at his face as her eyes got adjusted to the darkness of the room. Then she noticed the speckles of dried blood on his cheek, and smirked.
"Did you kill him?"
"Of course, why else would I be covered in a fool's blood?" He chuckled.
"Well- congrats then. You could've just as easily told me in the morning. Now clean up for heaven's sake, you smell awfully vile."
Author's Note: This is the prologue of a little story I'm working on! Apologies if it's short haha, I'm still getting a grasp on writing longer stories and It's a bit more difficult when I don't want to give away too much details or any names or descriptions for the prologue. If you like it or dislike it, please leave a review!
