Kim woke quickly, the familiar beep of the Kimmunicator reaching into her dreams to pull her out of bed. She arched a brow as she read the screen. The woman looking at her couldn't be who she thought it was. For one, Shego was in jail. For two, the woman was her arch nemesis, so couldn't be calling her up at 5:30 am.

But there she was looking at her, her lips curled into the faintest hint of a smirk. The villainess looked at her the smirk growing into a grin. "Kimmie. We need to talk."

"Why?" Kim's response was angry but at this time of morning she was unable to summon up the anger and hate for the woman she had felt since the synthodrone boyfriend plot. She wondered why to herself.

Shego shook her head, green hair flying. "Not here. Not over this. Meet me for breakfast at Bueno Nacho, one hour. Truce for the time we are in the restaurant." She glared at Kim until she nodded. Shego was a dangerous thief but her word was usually good. And curiosity was killing her.

She got up, dressed, and let Wade know where she was at. The boy genius frowned and argued until Kim brought him around, pointing out that she could handle herself. That Shego was no killer. That she kept her word. Finally, he agreed to let her go without calling in her parents, Ron or the tweebs.

Finally she slid into her seat at Bueno Nacho, a green skinned woman sliding in next to her after she settled. Shego nodded to her. "How did you…Never mind."

"I want to keep this short, princess. You tried to kill me." Kim opened her mouth to protest. Shego overrode it. "I had nothing to do with the thing called Erik. Drakken kept me in the dark until the last moment. But that doesn't matter. In a fit of anger, you kicked me into that tower, and you could have cooked me."

Shego leaned back, nonchalantly propping black boots on the table as Kim's eyes widened. "Why are you doing this?"

Shego had expected this. She knew a certain level of honesty was required in dealings with the teen hero. But only a certain level. Some things were best kept secret. Things like the fact that she didn't want her Kimmie becoming a killer. Things like that she had felt a certain amount of affection for the teen hero. Things like that she was worried about her.

"I enjoy fighting you, Kimmie. You're a challenge." She shrugged, took a sip of the soda in front of her and continued. "And you make my job interesting."

Kim spluttered predictably. Shego let her, then looked at her. Kim fell silent. "You need to know that when you kicked me into that tower you wanted to kill me. And nearly succeeded. You nearly killed that night, Kimmie."

Shego stood to leave, having accomplished her goal. "Wait, Shego? Why?"

"Do you really think I just woke up one day and decided I wanted to spend the rest of my life as a villain's sidekick? It takes anger, Kimmie. And hate." She shrugged. "And if you become evil, I wouldn't be able to fight you anymore. So self-interest, nothing more." Shego walked away.
