LIFE AND DEATH: TO RIKA AND GUILMON

A/N: While in my brief 'poetry phase', I thought of the three months in between my two connected story arcs; Loss and Gain, and Life and Death, and some of the things Renamon tried initially to help him. Somewhere along the line, she suggests that Takato write out his thoughts to them. So here's what I came up with. Enjoy.

Guilmon, I think of all the adventures we had
That day I drew you outside class, of that I'm glad
Rika, I remember all the times we shared
Even back when fighting was your only care
Guilmon, I remember when you first Digivolved – boy what a sight
I must admit, at first you gave me quite a fright
Rika, I remember when you helped me when Guilmon couldn't be found
I was so happy that you had finally come around
Guilmon, I remember when we faced Mahiramon; I felt every hit
He asked how you Digivolved; he threw quite the fit
Rika, I remember in the Digital World, when we were all scattered apart
And I wrote to our families; and in yours, oops, I put a heart
Guilmon, I remember when we Biomerged, wow what a feeling
We had the battle won; at our feet Beelzemon was kneeling
Rika, I remember when I said I liked your new shirt
Although I'm not sure if that could be considered a flirt
Guilmon, I remember our last fight together down in that tomb
You pushed me out of the way, saving me from certain doom
Rika, I remember you were there for me, right at my bedside
You helped me to grieve; you held me when I cried
I remember you helped me sleep again; just by holding my hand
That fateful night in the store, we were dealt a bad hand
Rika, Guilmon; I love you with all my heart
I'll never forget you; of me you'll always remain a part
