The Little Papillon & Paon

A/N: Hello viewers! If you haven't been caught up with me or TheStrangeClaireBean, we are currently in an angst war!

Game set and match, Claire!

Once upon a time, there was a little butterfly who fell in love with a little bird. While the peafowl wanted to save her home, the butterfly did not feel the same. You see, the butterfly and peacock raised a kitten of their own, and the butterfly wasn't ready to let go.

"Don't do this, Emilie!" Gabriel cried out. "The miraculous is unstable! You know what it'll do to you!"

"I have to." she replied. "It wouldn't feel right if I didn't."

Before Emilie could transform, Gabriel gripped his wife's hand. "Please. Do it for your son."

"That's who I'm doing it for. I love you, Gabriel." And with that, the peacock transformed and flew away.

The peafowl returned; the day saved once again. Years past, and their little kitten grew up, but the peacock's health was deteriorating. The butterfly tried his hardest to keep his beloved alive, but soon there was nothing left he could do.

"Emilie..." Gabriel stifled a sob. "Please don't leave me. Not here, not now."

The blonde smiled, raising her hand to his cheek. "Don't cry for me. I'll be alright."

"I-I won't be able to do this alone."

"You will never be alone." she whispered, coughs echoing the room. "But you need to promise me one thing."

"Anything."

She weakly opened her palm, revealing a silver box. "Please, protect our son."

And with that final wish, her hand drooped as she exhaled a final time. The box clattered to the ground as a purple brooch fell from its clutches.

Her eyes were closed, as her lips were etched in a peaceful smile. And even in Elysium, did she hear her little Papillon cry for his Paon.
