"You really shouldn't be moving on that."

Yuuri chose to ignore Domon. They had been staking out one of the few jewelry stores that hadn't been robbed in the past two weeks when the Zenitto had attacked, assisting Lila on one of her 'shopping sprees'. Between the two of them they'd fought them off, but she had been careless enough to twist her ankle in the process. The pain was bearable, but Domon not shutting up about it was another story.

"We need to meet up with Tatsuya and the others. The shop they're at is most likely to be hit next, and Lila's going to have more cannon fodder with her this time," she reminded him, not even slowing down.

"I didn't say we shouldn't, but it might be a good idea to at least let me look at it--"

"I'm not stopping until we catch the Londarz." She didn't look at him as she turned the corner. "If you were me, you'd understand."

That... hadn't been the best way to handle things, but Domon was finally quiet. Now all she had to do was get to the others in time, and--

It stabbed at her again, this time enough to make her lose her balance.

Okay, change of plan. She would sit down on the ledge long enough to let the pain ebb a little, and then she'd start moving again.

Domon knelt down next to her. "No excuses this time." Moving too quickly for her to even think about stopping him, he removed the boot and starting running his hands over the swelling in a way that... alleviated the pain.

"Where did you learn to do that?"

He grinned at her as he kept working. "Well, pro fighting's not exactly the safest sport. An old buddy of mine taught me this after some punk tried twisting my leg off in a bout-- I kicked his ass, of course."

"You talk as if nearly losing a limb was fun."

The grin grew a little wistful. "If you were me, you'd understand."

Yuuri felt a pang of guilt. "... I'm sorry. Considering how I can be about our mission sometimes, I'm the last person to talk down to you."

"No, don't be. We're both passionate about what we love, that's nothing to feel bad about." She felt a pressure against her heel. "There, that should do it. Try putting some weight on it." She did what he suggested, and except for a dull ache, it felt fine.

"Thank you..." she trailed off when she noticed that he was looking at her again, but in a much different way. "Something wrong?"

He laughed and waved it off, although considering how red his face was, she had a feeling it was more than he was letting on to. "I was just thinking that once we stop the Londarz, I should try asking you out again."

The look she gave him cut off any further laughter as she put her boot back on. "Let's just get moving."
