A/N: Really short scene from The Spelling Bee episode. I thought it would of been funny if Esmeralda found out about Ethel's crush. Enjoy.

Ethel's First Crush

The Pentangle's students had just arrived that morning for the spelling bee, Ethel was the first one to sit down to lunch and was just tucking into her soup when her sister took the seat facing her trying but failing at keeping the smirk of her face.

"What?" Ethel asked thinking what she could have done that was funny.

"I heard what happened with the Pentangle's boy." Esmie said smirking unable to help it.

"Oh don't you start as well." Ethel said really embarrassed about what had happened.

"I think it is cute your first crush." Esmeralda replied a smile on her face finding it too adorable that Ethel had a crush.

"I do NOT fancy Zac." Ethel protested defensively.

"Really? Frogspawn is the only word you were able to get out whilst talking to him." Esmie replied retelling the story to her sister.

"I was not nervous because of a crush I was nervous at talking to a Pentangle's student, you know how posh they are." Ethie replied trying to defend herself.

"Well that is good because he is coming over." Esmie replied observing that he was approaching closer.

"WHAT!?" Ethel said in shock having not had time to prepare for him coming near her. She touched her hair smoothing it down and wiped her mouth making sure she had no soup on it. Esmeralda smirked. Her sister definitely had a crush.

"Hi Ethel is it alright if we sit down?" Zac asked politely as he approached her. Esmeralda picked up her glass and casually took a drink as she smirked.

Ethel once again became tongue tied and stuttered a little before replying "Spoons."

Esmie put her glass down swallowing her water quickly before looking down and laughing.

"We have spoons already." Zac replied confused what she was going on about.

"Aww well Ethie just wanted to make sure isn't that right?" Esmie said winking at her sister with a smirk as Ethel glared at her. This was one of the most embarrassing situations she had ever been in.

"Ethie? That's a cute nickname" Zac said liking the nickname her sister gives her.

Ethel's cheeks turned scarlet at that and Esmie stood up still laughing at the whole scene that happened before her.

"I have to go do my prefect duties, have fun." Esmie said walking away with Ethel glaring after her. Leaving the two to spend some time together.
