Heartless
Soubi has no heart, no feelings. He tells himself that every day, all day. Fighters feel nothing, they are nothing. Just the protection that their Sacrafice needs. Protect the Sacrafice. That is all. Obey the Sacrafice. Soubi does not feel anything. The heart that beats within him has long since gone cold.
But hearts weren't made to stay still.
Sensei said that fighters need not fear pain. Yet how can Soubi not fear it when every bite of the lash makes his back burn in agony? When the sounds he hears, those tortured cries, are his own screams? Fighters do not feel pain, Sensei said. You must become the perfect Fighter for me, Soubi-kun. Soubi tells himself that pain is something he must overcome. Just like how Soubi can overcome feelings. Because Soubi has no feelings.
But feelings always exist. Even if they're buried somewhere deep down.
And now there is Ritsuka. Ritsuka is different. So different from his brother. Soubi is not sure what to think. Seimei says to love Ritsuka. And Soubi does.
But orders can not really make you love some one.
Does Soubi feel something? Truly feel something for this helpless, scrawny little cat-child? But Soubi has no feelings.
Right?
