A/N: This is my first fan fiction and I hope you like it. Please read and
review.
It was a starry night as Haldir walked though Lothlorien near his post when a messenger rushed through the forest and tripped over a twig and landed on Haldir's foot. "Legolas wishes to see you in Mirkwood." The messenger said "Why does he want see me young elf." Replied Haldir "He does not tell me, noone tells me anything". Spoke the elf So Haldir got his horse and set off to Mirkwood. At that moment he heard a sound that pierced the sound of the night. It sounded like no elf, human or dwarf. "What was that" Haldir exclaimed. He galloped on towards the place where he had heard the sound. Suddenly a group of 20 orcs where racing towards him, he drew his bow and placed two arrows in the bow and fired and hit two orcs. "Go back to were you came from" he shouted. Eventually he had to use his knifes. When the battle was over there was not an orc left standing. "That was fairly easy." Haldir spoke, he picked up as many arrows as he could and left for Mirkwood.
Two days later he was at the border of Mirkwood when the guards game up to Haldir "What are you doing here" one of the guards said. "Legolas has requested to see me," he replied "You cannot see the Prince he is very ill "spoke the guard. Haldir left Mirkwood with great anger; he then noticed with his sharp elven eyes that some of the guards had left their post. He walked into the forest being careful not to make a sound. He heard a sound and turned just in time to see some guards walking back. Without a moment's thought he climbed up into a nearby tree. After the guards had gone he jumped down from the tree and continued his journey.
There were few guards at the entrance to the palace; he noticed that one of the guards was sleeping. He quickly dealt a blow to the elf's head knocking him out and then stole his cloak to cover his travel clothes from view. When he got to the gates the guards turned around. "Why aren't you at your post?" One of the guards demanded. "I've been ordered to see His Majesty at once." The guards opened the doors and Haldir walked in.
When he arrived at Legolas's chambers, he silently opened the door and saw Legolas lying there still and pale. "What are you doing here guard?" Legolas said in a dull voice. Haldir laughed. "You cannot recognise me, Prince of Mirkwood?" Legolas shook his head and looked again. "Haldir?" "It is I." "You received my message then?" Haldir nodded. "Tell me friend, what has befallen you?" "I do not know. No one does."
