The End of the Affair
"I should feed you up." The hand, which a moment before had been caressing turned into a probing tool; poking at places that Spencer Reid knew were too thin, too skeletal to keep a man like Sean Hotchner interested in the long term.
Reid rolled over to look at his occasional bed partner. "Could be difficult if you aren't going to be here." The hand stilled for a moment and then morphed back into the earlier caress.
"You could come with me." Sean sounded hopeful. "Let's face it you could work out of the New York Field office. Or you could go back to school and join a fraternity, do all the things you couldn't do when you went the first time. After all, you still get carded half the time we go out."
Reid smiled and curled into his lover's touch. "What would I do for money?" He sighed. "It's not as if I don't have... things that need paying for." The arm tightened into a hug.
"Weekends in Atlantic City. You play poker, win big and keep us both in the manner we all want to become accustomed to." Reid smiled but did not respond.
The two men settled down into a position to sleep, still wrapped in each other's arms. After a few minutes relaxing Reid started off on his usual pre-sleep ramble.
"You caused quite the stir last week when you came into the office. Garcia was nearly drooling over the motorcycle gear and JJ only believed you and Hotch were related when she checked out your butt." Reid giggled. "I don't think he was impressed with the blatant ogling though!"
A soft kiss brought the ramble to an end.
"Go to sleep."
A little more wriggling and a hug to the encircling arm and the FBI agent dozed off leaving the ex-law student and newly employed chef watching him sleep.
Watching the man he loved; the man he knew was only with him, whether Reid admitted it or not, because Sean's, straight, older brother was unaware of what he was missing.
