Years of success and downfall
The lone wolf is brighter
While packs depend on one another for salvation
Shunned by the outside, embraced by the darkness
The saying goes "You learn something new everyday",
Who ever said they were beneficial?
Lost in a most artificial world
Cruel and superficial
Praised by mentors
Yet despised by peers
An individual so alone in the world
Never quite finding a pace
All because your comprehension of the world
Because you see the ugly truth
Not the embellished version
The gilded lifestyle we see today
Desire
Desperate and yearning
But so undeserving
So out of place
A past that mocks continually with a resonating voice
Mutilated images that float aimlessly beneath restless eyelids
Such unrelenting fear
Yet a comprehension beyond description of words
Eyes look on with such sorrow
Observing from afar
Yet not realizing why
"Why aren't I happy?"
Having matured at a young age
Growth excelled slowly without affection from the outside
Finally acquiring love, yet so lost
"I do not belong"
Silent tears glitter in the shroud of darkness
Falling around me like drops of rain
Weary and unwilling
Frightened and wanting
Hopeless and… understanding
In a moment of no luminescence, falls a beam of light
Though dim, much appreciated
A hidden purpose revolves in the atmosphere
A responsibility
So cruelly assigned
The metal sphere that chains me here
A bind so pure and unbreakable
One that satisfies yet reprimands
I'm here for them, and they, for me
Turning away is not an option
It was once remarked, "Friends are a crutch for the weak".
