This is my first time ever writing for Densi but Mashmaiden on Tumblr sent me this idea so I had to roll with it.
Takes place in season 7.
Writing Prompt #19
"Deeks, no."
"But Kensi."
"No."
"Come on, it'll but fun!" She turned around, exasperated. He'd been trying to convince her to do this for a month but she's held firm that it would be a bad idea, a very bad idea.
"How many times do I have to tell you, we are not getting a bouncy castle for Granger's birthday!" She leaned against the edge of her desk, thankful that the office was void of the Assistant Director at this time of night. Across the room, Deeks slung his messenger across his shoulders, causing a momentary distraction in her as his shirt rode up before he strode up to her.
"Kens, think about it. We rent a bouncy house, come in the middle of the night, set it up in the gym, and then jump out of it and surprise him when he comes in. It's the perfect plan!" Shaking her head to get out of the haze his puppy-dog eyes always put her in, she smiled and got back to the task at hand.
"Yeah, it's the perfect plan, until he finds out and fires us!"
"He wouldn't –" He grabs her arm as she starts walking towards the tunnel. "He wouldn't fire us. Maybe make us ride the desk for a couple days but it'd totally be worth it."
"What'll be worth it?" Impeccable timing as always, Nell and Eric come bounding the stairs from OPS. Kensi rolls her eyes as Deeks proudly lays out his plan for the wonder twins.
"You're getting a bounce house for Granger? Dude that's awesome!" On board with the plan, Eric high-fives him and continues. "Hey, I know a guy –"
"No, no, no. This is a very bad plan."
"See, Nell agrees with me."
"I mean, remember when Callen tried to get him to play a game on the boardwalk after that case?
"She's right Deeks, Granger and fun don't exactly go together." Nell looks proud of Eric siding with her and Kensi while Deeks accepts he's not going to win this argument now.
"Okay, you know what, fine. Just ruin all my fun. It may not be for Granger," The other three turn around to walk out as he yells behind them. "But I'm still getting my bouncy castle!"
"Oh Mr. Deeks, what is this I hear about a bouncy castle?" Deeks gulped and turned around slowly, expecting to see Hetty's glare aimed at him, but instead found her smiling up at him. "Are you planning my birthday?" Surprised speechless, he just stared as she continued. "Oh I do love a good bouncy castle."
So I hope this wasn't too bad. I don't know why but I can see Hetty enjoying a bounce house.
