The year is 1895, the famous monster hunter, Gabriel Van Helsing, has slain a 20-foot tall gorilla known to the natives of an uncharted island as "King Kong", who had been menacing the city of Paris. After the battle, Van Helsing returns to his home, where he receives word from the Vatican that a monster of immense size was spotted in the Atlantic Ocean, approaching the city of London. The creature had defeated much of the Knights of the Holy Order, leaving only a few members of the organization, Van Helsing included, remaining. With this, Van Helsing rides off to London.

In London, Van Helsing awaits the arrival of the creature said to have wiped out much of the Knights of the Holy Order. After a while, he spots something in the water, a row of spines approaching the city. Nearly a minute later, a large creature, exactly 400 feet tall, and resembling a bipedal wingless dragon with a row of spines running down it's back, emerges from the water and enters the city. Van Helsing recognizes the creature from legends on another uncharted island of a creature called "Godzilla", the "King of Monsters", and realizes he's in for the ultimate test, saying to himself "I'm gonna need bigger traps".

Godzilla the proceeds to lay waste to London. With no other options, Van Helsing proceeds to go after the beast, firing a grappling hook at one of it's spines, from which the monster hunter swings onto the beast's back. Using his vast assortment of weapons, Van Helsing does everything in his power to slay the monster king. However, nothing lays even so much as a scratch on him. Realizing this, Van Helsing runs all the way to Godzilla's head, armed with a great sword, and attempts to pierce his skull, however, the sword breaks on impact, and Godzilla shakes it's head, knocking Van Helsing off of him, but the monster hunter fires another grappling hook at a nearby building and swings toward it.

The monster hunter then proceeds to run all the way to the top of the building and survey the damage caused by Godzilla. Van Helsing then begins feeling fatigued. However, he decides to continue on anyway and jumps from rooftop to rooftop following Godzilla. Van Helsing, desperate to defeat the great beast, fires his crossbow at it several times, which proves futile as Van Helsing falls to his knees, feeling dizzy, then vomits blood. Just then, Godzilla looms over the building on which Van Helsing is standing, and Van Helsing, realizing he has been defeated, weakly rises to his knees and shouts "GODZILLA" as Godzilla destroys the building, sending Van Helsing falling to his death. Godzilla then proceeds to continue attacking the city.
