Improving the Game

Summery: What happens when you get so good at the game of life that it becomes boring? Why you make it more difficult of course! (Yet another One-Shot)

Disclaimer: Well... no. I don't own Inuyasha and Sesshomaru is too proud to be
"owned" by anyone.

Spoiler Warning: Spoilers for episode seven. Sorry!

Now my tales have spread across the land by now I'm sure. The absolute truths that I, Sesshomaru, am unbeatable. So I shouldn't have to be telling this at all. But I will.

I am the strongest, the bravest, the smartest, the best, the most cunning, the toughest, the most powerful, the mightiest, the absolute, the fiercest, the most intelligent, the most iron-willed, the fastest, the greatest, the sharpest, the boldest, the most brilliant, the most adroit, the healthiest, the supreme, the unparalleled, the most perfect, and the most matchless demon alive. Therefore, NO ONE can beat me. That is why I never waste my time by going after the Shikon No Tama, I mean really, it would do nothing. You cannot improve perfection.

Now when I reached the point of such absolute perfection to where anyone (no matter the size) looked like ants to me and killing any enemy was as simple as grooming my claws I knew I had reached the point to where I was getting bored. Everything was so easy. It's like when you master a game so well that it no longer has any interest to you. Like when you humans put away your childish toys in favor of different ones, like shovels and bows and arrows.

Anyway, I was getting bored with life. I had mastered the game of life and I had nothing more to challenge me. At that point I was starting to wish my Terrible Father was alive so that I could fight him. So, I decided to improve the game of life. I knew I couldn't get better at life, the only way was to make the game harder. Not much different from children's games. Once they master one thing like throwing an acorn through a gap in the branches of a tree they move onto to a smaller hole or step farther away. Thus, in the same way, I needed to make the game harder.

I tried a myriad of things. I let a pathetic toad join me to slow me down. Though that did make my life a little more interesting for awhile, he soon became annoying. So, even though I wished to destroy him, I kept the handicap and went looking for something better. There were a few other things I did, like deciding to walk more and stopping my excellent reflexes for a few seconds before I annihilated anything bugging me but still, I needed something more. A better challenge, something akin to blindfolding yourself in order to find out if you can juggle correctly. I had this aching want for something to actually make my long life more challenging.

That, is why I let Inuyasha rip off my arm.
