Crazy

I wake up,

from my daily nap.

Scratch my head,

and yawn.

Stand up,

walk into the kitchen,

and grab a can of Mountain Dew.

Return to the sofa,

sit down.

Open the can,

drink the contents.

Dry my mouth,

crack my jaw.

And lay down on the sofa again.

My head is spinning,

I hear voices,

voices that sound like mine.

They tell me,

that I've been lazy,

that I should have

killed her long ago.

I shake my head,

the voices are quiet.

Try to get some rest,

but they come back,

encourage me to kill.

To kill again,

to kill again.

I sit up,

shake my head.

" Leave me alone!"

The voices laugh

and whisper in my ear,

making goose bumps form on my neck.

" You are alone"

Frightened, angry

I stand up.

" What is happening to me?"

I walk towards the mirror,

sitting on the hallway wall.

I see someone behind me.

" Listen to me, because this is how it happens"

Confused I turn around

and see a man,

standing before me.

" You don't exist"

I try to convince myself,

but deep inside I know,

I know I'm going crazy.

The man approaches,

descending the stairs.

"Me? I exist Mr. Rainey. I exist, because.. you made me."

I turn around,

he must be an imagination,

but then he speaks again.

So he is real!

He stands behind me,

puts his hat on my chest.

" What's the real reason I come for?"

I stare out into the air.

What is it?

Then it hits me.

" Fix the ending. Gotta fix the ending."

I put the hat on my head,

see the car outside my window.

I go upstairs, and hide,

then the front door opens.

Someone is calling my name,

but it isn't mine anymore.

My name is John Shooter.

I hear the floorboard creek,

under her tiny feet.

The excitement

runs through my veins.

Now is the time,

the time I've been waiting for,

the time of her death.

I push the door open

and there she is,

like a frightened deer.

" M-Mort.. What's wrong?"

I grin at her devilishly

and pull her hair out of the ponytail.

" Ain't no Mort here. Mort's dead!"

She runs away,

down the stairs.

I pull out my scissors,

ready to attack.

But she gets away,

into her car.

But the car won't start.

I pull her out of the car

and drag her inside.

I stab her ankle with my screwdriver

and get kicked in my face.

But that won't stop me,

nothing can.

She will be dead by the end of the day.

Outside I see her,

laying on the ground,

so pathetic.

She cries for mercy,

but I won't spare her.

This is her destiny,

today she's got to die.

I raise my shovel

and smile down at her.

She holds my leg,

begging me to listen.

I hear a sound,

coming from the cabin.

Who dares to disturb me now?

It's Ted,

my wife's boyfriend.

God I hate him!

He comes to the backdoor,

screaming for Amy.

He shouldn't have come.

Now I have to kill him too.

As his lifeless body

hits the ground,

I hear her screaming.

I turn around,

with a grin on my face.

Now I can finally finish,

finish what I was meant to do.

I walk to her,

she lies there helpless,

nothing can save her now.

" I know I can do it Todd Downey said,

helping him to another ear of corn from the steaming bowl.

I'm sure that in time her death will be a mystery.

Even to me!"
