Lies, lies, lies, lies.

That's all she was. That's all she was doing.

She sank to the ground, gripping her hair so tightly, yet she felt none of it.

"Marinette..." Her floating companion muttered.

She held her hair tighter. "Lies..." She mumbled.

Tikki frowned, and reached out to her slightly.

"I'm all lies..." Marinette continued. She clenched her eyes shut. "Lies!" She shouted suddenly, causing her kwami to fly back in shock. "I hate liars! I hate them! Hate, hate, hate!"

Her eyes burned with tears coming, and she didn't fight them; letting them flow evenly down her cheeks.

She let out a groan of anger. "I hate liars! Tikki, you know I do!"

Tikki didn't know how to respond to her.

Marinette's voice turned watery like her tears. "I hate them, but I am one! I'm a... a hypocrite!" She gasped for her breath. "I-It's not fair that I point out liars, if I am one myself!"

Tikki rushed forward, and hugged the girl. She was giving herself grief for no reason.

tumblr "Tikki..." Marinette muttered. "What kind of hero am I? I'm a hypo-"

"Shush, Marinette!" Tikki stopped her, before she could keep going. "You're not a hypocrite, you're not a liar, and you do not hate yourself." Marinette quieted, sobbing quietly and listening to the tiny creature.

"You are a hero, Marinette. And you only keep your identity a secret because you want to keep everyone you love safe." Tikki continued. "So you are not a liar."

Marinette choked a sob and squeezed Tikki in a tight embrace. "Tikki..." She whined.

"Shhh... it's okay, it's okay, Marinette." Tikki whispered sweetly to her.

The teen hushed, and her sobs toned down to silent chokes, her breath slowing until she fell asleep.

Tikki flew out of her grip, and struggled slightly to pull a blanket over the girl's resting body against the lounge chair.

Tikki flew to her tear-stained cheek and kissed it lightly. "You'll be okay, Marinette."
