Summary: 'It amazes Abu, sometimes, how soft feathers actually are.' (drabble, light slash)

Disclaimer: I don't own Aladdin in any way, shape, or form.

Warning: Light slash and major fluff. Heh...

Author's Note: Hey, all. More here from the second and seemingly sole remaining Abu/Iago writer. (That's right, I wasn't the first to think up this pair.)

Oh, and this drabble-ly little fluff piece would take place well after my last fic, 'Goodybe isn't Easy'.

It amazes Abu, sometimes, how soft feathers actually are.

Iago's feathers, at least. It makes sense, really, once he thinks about it. Pillows are stuffed with feathers, after all. And that's what it feels like whenever he hugs Iago. The only difference is the heartbeat, proving the existence of a heart the bird often denies.

He loves Abu, though. He doesn't deny that. And that makes Abu happy.

Really, it doesn't so much surprise Abu that feathers are soft, so much as it surprises him that Iago Is soft. It doesn't seem . . . right.

Iago is rough around the edges, to say the least. He's crude and loud and insensitive. At least, that's the image he tries to have. Or tried. Not so much anymore. At least, not when he's with Abu.

In fact, when Iago is with Abu, he's gentle; sweet... Even romantic on occasion. It's not a constant - he's often still loud and crude - but it's there. He makes sure it is, so Abu will know... He cares. He's always cared.

Abu is his angel. He never admits it, except in his sleep. But Iago talks just as much in his sleep as he does while awake, and Abu hears. He never mentions it to Iago, but it means a lot to him.

All things considered, Abu figures it really does make sense that Iago's so soft.

Dang... I didn't realize how short that was. Well, hope you enjoyed it anyway and thanks for reading!
