The Yellow Puppet: Wow, I don't think I've finished any of my other stories, but I'll give this one a shot.

Disclaimer: the only thing I own here is the story.

Chapter 1

Zelda was happy. She liked her father. She liked her friends. She liked her teacher. She even liked her boyfriend (I guess there are some good fish in the sea). She had nothing to complain about, though she really isn't a fan of the whole 'humidity' thing. But this story isn't about her father, or that he is king of Hyrule. It isn't about her friends, and how they are always there for her no matter what. It isn't about her teacher that comes to her house everyday (Zelda is home-schooled) . This story is about her and her boyfriend, Chad.

Zelda hung up the phone smiling. She had just been on the phone for three hours with her boyfriend, Chad. They hadn't been able to see each other all day because, (like I said before) Zelda is home-schooled, but Chad goes to a public school. Normally they would meet up after school, but Chad had a lacrosse (do they play lacrosse in Hyrule?) game, and Zelda had a three page report on the history of paperclips.

'I'm going to go for a walk' Zelda thought to herself (well, who else can you think to?). She made sure that no one was outside before she climbed down the vine that went from her window to the meadow that separated her castle from the rest of Hyrule.

When she got to the edge of the meadow she noticed a blonde boy, about her age, leaning against a tree. 'He's not that bad looking either.' Zelda thought.

"What are you doing out here?" Zelda said walking up to the boy.

"What, you have a law against standing?" The boy said moving out from under the tree a bit.

"No, but there's a big festival going on in town." Zelda said slowly.

"Oh my god! I'm gonna be late for the chicken festival!" The boy said sarcastically.

"What's your name?" She asked eyeing him suspiciously. SO far she didn't really like this kid.

"Link." Link said bluntly.

"Hmmm… never heard of you." Zelda said trying to think if she heard her father mention him. It was unusual for on of the towns people being on royal property.

"And you are?" Link said shoving his hands in his pockets.

"You're kidding, right?" Zelda said half laughing. "Everyone knows who I am!"

"Aren't we little miss popular." Link said sarcastically.

"I'm princess Zelda!" Zelda said smartly.

"Oh, I princess, I'm sorry. Your majesty." Link said, once again, sarcastically (what a surprise). He bowed a little to dramatically.

"Stop it." She said chuckling. "So why are you here, and not at home?"

"I assume the castle's yours then." He said gesturing toward the castle, and then shoving his hands in his pockets.

"Yes. Now why don't you go home." Zelda was getting annoyed with this guy.

"Not a big fan." He said leaning against the tree again.

"Of what?" Zelda said trying to sound annoyed so this guy would go away.

"Home." Link said.

"Oh, you're one of those punk kids." Zelda said.

"Well, I should go. Got stuff to do." Link said backing towards the gate that separated the castle from the town.

"Yeah, well I have to meet Chad anyways." Zelda said a little more snotty than she wanted to.

"Brother?" Link asked looking mildly interested.

"Boyfriend." She replied. Walking toward the gate.

"Huh." Link said nodding ever so slightly.

Zelda choose to ignore that, but watched as he slipped in the door that had the ladder to get up on the cliff.

'Jerk.' Zelda thought as she slipped through the gate and made her way towards town.

Zelda was annoyed with this guys attitude. What was he doing on her land? Or really her father's land. He acted like a total punk. How did he not know who she was? But through all the hate she had toward him, she could help but feel… mildly interested.
