Just a one shot I made when I was overcome with feels...Done in 1st person, while they're relaxing on the beach - enjoy!
Annabeth sighed as she rested her head against my shoulder. Her breath fresh and sweet, her hair golden in the dying light, and in this moment, I was just completely lost in her. Dark, stormy grey eyes, relaxed and in an almost sad, calm peacefulness; the small smile of her lips as she watched the magnificent sunset sink over the undisturbed sea, casting long shadows across the golden sand. There were no worries or stress of life. All that she had ever been through, the good and the bad, were forgotten in this moment of pure bliss, as we laid mesmerised by the radiant colours thrown out by the sun.
Her hand closed around mine as the bottom of the sun touched the horizon, and my eyes left her and watched the first rays of the glowing sun dip behind the other side of the earth. The clear sky and deep blue sea that lapped over the sand made the beach look like a a paradise, but I knew anywhere would be a paradise with her by my side.
Her long, blond hair shone like a that of a goddess in the dimming light and tickled the back of my neck as she turned to me, looking into my eyes. The sun had nearly gone now, a slim semi circle, sitting on the horizon, as if reluctant to go.
I looked deep into her eyes, lost in their beauty and tranquility. We leaned in and as our lips touched, I closed my eyes and wished that this moment could last forever, until we were no longer in this world, and then we would start our next adventure together, hand in hand, side by side.
Ahh, I had a brainwave while writing this. Annabeth's eyes could be like the eye of the storm. Intimidating and scary on the outside, but tranquil and full of beauty on the inside.
By the way, the cover art is not mine (unfortunately, just something I plucked off tumblr), I believe this person drew it: partedelfandoom (type into tumblr search bar for their blog)
Please review guys, it makes me happy and more likely to write more in the future! Thanks to Daughter of Poseiden and TheStoryChoosesTheWriter for their reviews, much appreciated (and I corrected that typo, thanks!)
