Prologue
We left the North Pole soon after the Siege to look for an earthbending teacher for Aang. Katara had become a Master Waterbender and would replace Master Pakku as Aang's teacher. Sokka is still upset about Yue's death, but puts on a brave face for all of us. Katara has been keeping a close eye on him and me. After seeing Yue's death, she's started to worry that I might do the same thing and end up giving my life to save Aang's. I won't ever admit it to her, but I'm starting to think that may be the case. The unique fire I discovered in my last fight with Zuko has become permanent it seems. Speaking of Zuko, he still has my betrothal bracelet. I'll have to do something about that later. Anyways, despite its strange appearance the fire still feels the same as my old fire did - if that even makes sense.
I'm confident that we can save the world and this war now. We have to, for all the people we've met and for all those we haven't. The Avatar brings hope to them; he even brings hope to Fire Prince Zuko, and … he brings hope to me. Aang was so upset when he discovered that he was the Avatar and I'm sure because of that he'll never abuse his power as the Avatar. There is one thing though. I love the goofy kid that Aang is and I just hope that he can stay true to who he is even under all this pressure to save the world.
Winter has ended and spring has begun and with the change of seasons the world itself is beginning to change.
Water, Earth, Fire, Air…
