Purpose
Death. He had seen a lot of it as a special forces soldier. Too much.
Then he had joined UNIT.
Now he had seen even more death.
But while he had seen too much death, he had a purpose now. In the US Army, he had started to feel like he was just killing and killing with no purpose, no respite.
Now, though, he had a purpose. He was helping protect the Earth, no matter how small his part in that defense actually was.
No matter that he was stationed far from home, in England, of all places.
It didn't matter.
He would do what he could.
That was enough.
