INFORMATION:
In this story, Spyro is 14 years old (12 is his canon age but i've decided to make him two years older in this story) and Flame is a young 8 year-old dragon (his actual age is unknown but he's most likely younger than spyro due to his size and voice) that always idolized Spyro. He looks up to him due to Spyro saving him from Gnasty Gnorc and just being the hero that he is.
NOTE: This is my first fanfiction, I'm sorry if it's bad. (which it probably is)
THE STORY:
It was a peaceful day in the world of dragons. All the dragons were doing their own thing as usual. It's been a long time since Spyro has defeated Gnasty Gnorc, Ripto, and The Sorceress, Spyro was sleeping under a tree in the Artisans world when Hunter came hurrying to Spyro to tell him that Gnasty Gnorc has returned for revenge and is killing all the dragons. "What?!" Spyro exclaimed. "What did you say he's doing to them? Didn't I already teach him a lesson by beating him last time? Alright, I've got to hurry Hunter, make sure Bianca and the others are okay." Spyro then quickly ran off to find and beat Gnasty Gnorc once again and for hopefully the last time.
Flame noticed Spyro running like he was in a hurry and asked him what's wrong. "Spyro! Are you alright? Do you need help with something?" Flame said in his usual cheery and helpful matter. "No time to explain! I'm sorry but this is really important!" Spyro then continued to run, Flame being the curious and gullible little young dragon he is, followed Spyro. Spyro was running around aimlessly looking for any sign of where Gnasty Gnorc might be, until he saw something that stopped him dead in his tracks. A dragon. A DEAD dragon.
There was blood around the dragons body and a giant hole was clearly visible in the elder dragons chest. Spyro had a worried and concerned look on his face, he was shocked by what he saw. Spyro continued searching for Gnasty in hopes that everyone else was still alive. Flame was still following Spyro and didn't even notice the dead dragon while following him, he was too excited to see what Spyro was up to. Spyro didn't even know Flame was following him due to him being extremely focused on finding Gnasty, and the fact that Flame was far behind.
After Spyro searching for a long time he finally found Gnasty, and to his displeasure, more dead dragons. Spyro was enraged and wanted to put an end to this before it was too late. Gnasty noticed Spyro quickly approaching him and Gnasty focused his staff onto the purple dragon. Flame finally caught up with Spyro and noticed Gnasty in front of Spyro, Flame quickly ran up to Gnasty to try and take him down to be like his idol Spyro. "Flame! What are you doing here?!" Spyro yelled. Before Flame could answer, Gnasty pointed his staff at Flame and shot his beam at him.
"FLAME!" Spyro shouted, as he then ran as fast as he could and pushed Flame out of the way before Gnasty could hit him. Flame was shocked and baffled at what Spyro just did. Spyro sacrificed himself to save Flame. Flame's eyes began to fill up with tears as he slowly walked up to Spyro's lifeless and unmoving body. "S-s-spyro?" Flame said as more tears rolled down his face. Flame just watched his hero get murdered right in front of him sacrificing himself to save his best friend.
