Notes: It's been a long time since I've written for a ship that I care so deeply about so please sorry for my crappy language. I still have a bleak idea of where this fic is going but all I can tell you is that this will have some major ANGST. And though Amihan didn't appear in the prologue, I assure you this is an Ybramihan fic. Hope you like this guys. Will post again tomorrow or the day after that.
Prologue
"Alena," Ybrahim stood in greeting of the sang'gre. "I was just about to haveāis something wrong?"
The sang'gre motioned for the prince of Sapiro to sit back down on his chair. Paneya and fruits were laid down on the table; a quaint meal for a prince. Alena smiled at Ybrahim, her eyes bright. "I have good news for you, your highness."
"How many times have you told you not to address me as your highness, Alena? Just Ybrahim, or Ybarro."
"Forgive me, Ybarro. I'm just too excited."
"Excited about what?"
Alena really was beautiful like a lily in full bloom. Ybrahim haven't seen her this excited for a long time. He knew he should be thrilled but Ybrahim couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.
"I have good news for you," Alena continued and raised her left hand. Verdant light radiated from her open palm and the water gem levitated over its magic circle.
Ybrahim's eyes widened. He shot up from his seat and asked, "How? Lilasari?"
Alena shook her head. "Don't worry, Ybarro. She willingly returned it to me after I saved her from Hagorn. Aren't you happy that I got my gem back?"
"Of course I am happy, Alena. But where is Lilasari now?"
"She, Hitano, and her daughter are in Lireo right now. Amihan has taken them under her wing. But let's forget about them for now. I have my gem back, Ybarro. Do you know what this means?"
Ybrahim's eyebrows furrowed for a second but realization dawned in his face. "It means Sapiro will be safer now."
Alena chuckled. "Yes that but I could also help you now, Ybrahim. You don't have to be confused about me and Amihan anymore."
Ybrahim stiffened. "Alena, I don't know what you're talking about. You're here with me in Sapiro, aren't you? It means I've chosen you."
"Yes but I still see the confusion in your eyes, Ybarro. You don't need to lie to me anymore if I'm to be you're queen."
"Alena, you know well enough I still can't marry you. Taking the throne of Sapiro is the least of my problems. I need to smoothen things over my kingdom first before establishing my reign as king."
"And I, with my gem, will help you secure your reign in Sapiro, Ybarro. And end the confusion of your heart," Alena promised, raising her left hand. The room was filled with emerald light, washing the walls with its brilliance. Ybrahim shielded his eyes from the blinding green light, stunned.
"O water gem, I command you to sweep away my love's memories of Amihan that caused all the bewilderment of his heart. Let him remember all the moments we spent together. Let him remember that it is I who he loves the most," Alena commanded. The gem brightened even more and a wash a magic flowed towards Ybrahim, enveloping him. And as quickly as it enveloped him, the light vanished as Alena closed her left palm.
The room again was illuminated by the torches on the wall, casting a warm glow on Ybrahim's face.
"Alena?" Ybrahim straightened and looked at Alena as if seeing her for the first time.
"Yes, my love?" Alena answered as Ybrahim took her hand.
Ybrahim bent his right knee and held on to Alena's hand. With bright eyes, he asked, "Will you be my queen?"
Before Alena could answer, Wantuk appeared from the archway leading to throne room, his hat askew.
"Prince Ybrahim! Prince Ybrahim! The prisoners of Carcero led by Asval and Sang'gre Pirena are storming the palace!"
